Well. Never was able to get around to that test yet cause life decided to get in the way. However this morning it decided it wants to have a misfire now so thats always good fun. Decided to try and use the new code reader to figure which one, I know its drivers side due to true dual exhaust, but it refused to do the cylinder balance test, possibly due to no spout or some other stupid reason. I pulled cylinder 8s plug figuring it was that but it wasn't, I'll have to check the other 3 later. The joys

Well. As I've learned I'm missing on 2 cylinders not 1. Number 6 and Number 7. Ran a compression check 7 is at 130 so its not that. 6 is at 105 so that may be a problem. They seem to still have spark at least

Got the valve cover off. Drivers side so egr got in the way and made everything awful. Valve train moves as it should so its not that I think. Leaves me with a possible head gasket or a bad ring. Based on my coolant never staying in the reservoir but also not leaking or going through it fast at all I'm leaning at the gasket, just wherever its bad its not mixing with the oil

Well. Another update on this mess. Ran some tests. Can confirm that its not the gasket I think, didnt take the heads off to really check, however I did have napa test the injectors and I have 5 leaking and 2 broken ones so that may explain many things... I guess in that case anyone got a good recommendation for replacements? I may as well get good quality ones while I am replacing them

That they do. To be fair this is a college town with a big automotive school. They were able to flow test them and give me that info

I guess in this case is should I see if I can even find the stock single port style or get a set of the 4 port ones from the later years. Probably just get the oem bosch ones but idk if the later ones are actually an improvement or not. I've seen with the xj jeeps doing a similar upgrade can cause some issues. Didn't know if itd be the same here

Atomizes better sure but when it has to sit there for a sec because of the batch system it doesn't really turn out any better from what I've read. That and the multi ports seems to get clogged easier.

Well. Got the new injectors put in. A set of oem Motorcraft/Bosch ones even. Didn't fix whatevers wrong with it. It idles fine up front it seems like, doesn't sound like its running rough and maybe a little bit of injector clatter for noise but no crazy ticks or anything. But drivers side exhaust just sounds like its missing. It does seem to idle smoother from the other side and throttle response is much better at least. I don't even know at this point. Thinking could be carbon build up in the exhaust since the egr ain't working right but who knows. Just something else to look at before pulling heads maybe.

Do you have headers? You could try to pull off the header on that side and pull the spark plugs. Then shine a flashlight in the exhaust ports and see if you can see any light in the cylinder. Do it at night (easier to see light or use cheap bore scope) and each cylinder needs valves closed either by loosening the rockers or rotating engine.

No theyre manifolds. I have headers for it just havent put em on yet. I may end up pulling them at some point anyway to check them but it may be a while. Motor for my Cobra just got done at the machine shop so my money focus is probably gonna go to finishing that project over fighting this anymore for the time being.
