Keyless Entry Codes
Your wonderfull. We just found my daughters code number after looking and asking for 3 years now. Am so happy. We were gonna have to pay 175.00 for dealership to do the same thing. Thanks you and may god bless you. You will be rewarded back in many ways. thanks again
2001 Sport Trac
I have seen many posts about the location of the entry code on a 2001 Explorer Sport Trac, ie. under defroster, behind rear seats. Can someone explain to me how to remove the back panel (behind the seats) to get to the module without damaging the paneling? I just got the truck and don't want to screw it up... yet.
I have a 2001 explorer sport. The manual said that the code was located on the card in the glove box, which didn't come with the vehicle, or marked on the computer module. I looked on the computer module. I couldn't find anything. One day I was checking the blend door, in the heater box. I removed the passenger side air bag, and low and behold, behind the air bag, is the security computer module with the number right on the top. The manual didn't say the security computer module. It just said the computer module. So I spent about a month looking for the damn thing. Glad you finally found yours. I ended up going to the dealer, and hooking up to the machine about two days before I found mine. maybe this reply will help someone else.

The 5-digit code you need is attached to a module that sits on top of the left-rear wheel well. You access it by removing the cover in the cargo area for the jack/ washer fluid bottle. Using a flashlight and a mirror, look towards the front of your vehicle- you're looking for a light-colored box a little bigger than a pack of cigarettes. There's a sticker on the side of the box, facing the interior. It would really help if you had someone pull out on the plastic panel a little at this point. There will be several numbers on the module, but the 5-digit one you're looking for will be in large, bold-faced type.

My wife bought a cherry '98 Explorer a couple months ago, and we've just been too cheap to pay the dealer to figure it out for us.
Thanks to this site! I got it this evening:
OK, thanks to all!
, I just went out and opened the jack compartment, took the jack and pryed a little extra room between the module and the trim panel, and could (almost) read five "big" numbers. I thought the last number was either a "0" or an "8," and it turned out to be the latter.

Sure, if you can find something to make the ignition switch turn...
1st impulse: channel-lock pliers? Nahhh!
So, the "luxury" of being able to go around without the key to the vehicle means you cannot operate the vehicle.
Damm!--- I feel dummm!
Hmmm- if I know the keyless entry code I can unlock the car to get the key I left in the ignition!! WoW!!
This Senior Citizen crap sux
