Sorry- there are no stickers on the 2002s. The vehicle was originally delivered with a plastic card with the number on it, OR the originating dealer may have the number on file, OR you'll have to go to a Ford service department and have them pull the code out of the vehicle's computer, for which they'll charge anywhere from $0-50.00.
After reading this string of successes and failure to find the code I figured it was worth an attempt anyway. I found the code on my 2002 Explorer Limited just below the Pillar/ Seat-belt adjuster. It was on the module, but low and behold in their infinite wisdom the module manufacturer decided to place a yellow sticker stating "Programming Required" on top of the White Sticker with all the module information. I was able to remove the yellow sticker with a razor knife and long needle nose pliers enough to get see the numbers with a mirror and flashlight. I had to guess at one number because of the residue left from the sticker.
We just purchased a 2008 Expl XLT with keyless entry. Of course the code is not in the vehicle, and we bought it at a BMW dealership. They are going to try and contact the former owner for the code. But the owners manual says it is also on the module. Any ideas where that might be on a 08?
In the 2008 the Remote Keyless Entry functions are performed by the Smart Junction Box (SJB). The SJB is listed as "under the dash panel, left hand side". It will likely be piggyback with a fuse panel. Check for a 5-digit number on a sticker down around the brake and parking brake pedals.
I had to get a key made for my 04 Explorer last week.
Went to the Ford dealer and they charged almost $90.
to make 1 key and they gave me the keypad code.

That sounds like the cost for the key. I had one made at a hardware store and they charged $75 for a key
