I think protests only happen in a few big cities. The rest of the nation doesn't bother.
I don't believe that. We were down in town near El Camino & Hillsdale (basically El Camino and the few blocks north & south of the Hillsdale shopping center (San Mateo) yesterday. I am an unreliable estimator of crowds, but there was a huge number of people out demonstrating. Sidewalks were full for about 5 city blocks; both sides. If I had to guess, I'd say there were 10-15 thousand people with all manner of signs and noise makers.
Rather disappointing turnout today for the Father's Day car show. Twelve vehicles were scheduled to be there but only eight showed up, and three of them were motorcycles. 1946 Plymouth. Yes, the blower is functional. 1955 Chevy (Bel Air I think)and a 1962 Chevy II Nova. Nova has a built 350 in it. Usually, he has the hood up but not today. Interior shot of the Nova. Another one who usually has the hood up, but not today. This is the turbo 318. Turbo is nestled down below the alternator on passenger side of engine compartment. I thought being a Plymouth it would have a Hemi but I have no clue what engine this is.

PS: Forgot to mention the 55 Chevy has a LS1 under the hood, but today being "leave your hood down" day I guess he didn't want to show it off.

Reason: add info.

How is that area now? I haven't been to Hillsdale since Sears closed. I hear that the North end of the shopping center is now a big food court with sit down, table service restaurants. Someone else told me that the mall is trying to be a family friendly destination.
Living in The City, I just don't find myself going to malls often. Took my parents to lunch at The Embarcadero in SF. Which I guess is like a giant mall, spanning four square blocks or about 10 acres, with 45 story office towers. There's a restaurant down there which faces the waterfront and Ferry Building. Plenty of parking on Sunday, since Financial District offices are all closed. My only gripe is that it's expensive. Even by SF standards, it's expensive. The price for a dim sum lunch, was more than a prime rib dinner.

Where were these people when the last "king" made people wear masks, locked us down, prevented us from going to the beach, fired people for not getting an experimental vaccine, shut businesses down, opened the hotline to rat out your neighbors, etc, etc. ?? The democrats are such fools these days. I saw someone say all Trump has to do is select ANY 80-20 issue and highlight the 80% position. The mouth breathers then jump on board the 20% and protest against him. It's hysterical. I'm not sure the democrats will ever win a national election again, particularly with CA turning red before our very eyes.

The Pandemic was in 2020. That King lost the 2020 election. That King was reelected in 2024.

but what you had were fine examples. Quality over quantity.

We actually went there a couple months ago looking for something (I don't remember). It was eerily quiet. Last we heard the whole shopping center is slated for redevelopment.

Long live The King.
As I recall, operation warp speed accelerated the development of mRNA vaccines. Truly a marvel of scientific development. They probably saved millions of lives. When (maybe if now), mRNA vaccines will revolutionize the annual flu program.
Except for the 1946 Plymouth all of the cars there had been there for the previous car shows. That is how I know what engines they have even though the hoods were closed. It was a good day nonetheless, just a bit scarce on the entries. One of the church members has a 1927 Ford. It is all original. It is scratched up and has faded black paint, but it still runs, although it does have a tendency to break down, and getting parts for it is a PITA. He didn't bring it yesterday (maybe it broke down again?). Last year a Lowrider car club attended so that bolstered the entries quite a bit. USPS has informed me I have a letter from Sportsman's Warehouse arriving today. I am guessing that is their store card. I have a 11am appointment with Social Security today and it is sort of close to where the store is. I say sort of because they are both in North Fresno just about 2-3 miles from each other, whereas I am in South-Central Fresno about 10 miles from SSA and maybe 8 miles from Sportsman's. Anyway, I had planned on stopping by Sportsman's after the SSA appointment if there is time. The caregiver shows up today at 12:45 and the SSA appointment shouldn't run that long, so maybe I can stop by and see if they know when the Taurus Defender will be back in stock. It is similar to the 856 I am looking at getting, but with a 3-inch barrel instead of 2-inch. I think the only way I can get the $50 off price is to buy it online using the store card, but if they allow me to get it in store with it I will. The mail usually arrives around 9:30-10am, so I can have the card with me when I go. Assuming that is what is in the letter of course.
Unreal... Just wasted 100% of my time this morning. Checked the mail and no card yet. So I went to the SSA office, waited 40 minutes to be seen. i get up to the window and tell him I need my SSN card to match my real ID card. I hand him both and he asks to see my birth certificate. I tell him I don't have it with me, but I needed it to get the real ID. He says he still needs to see it. So, he makes another appointment for me August 8th. What a joke. The Federal government doesn't trust the California government it seems. Of course, the California government doesn't trust the Federal government either. Years ago, when I was trying to get Veteran put on my Real ID, I took a copy of my DD214 to the DMV to show proof I was in. They wouldn't accept it. Unreal. They wanted a letter from the VSO (Veteran Service Office) stating I was in. He or she would ask me to show the DD 214 before writing the letter. So, what is the big deal? They would be looking at the same document I already showed the DMV. Got lost trying to get to Sportsman's Warehouse. I pulled into the Kaiser Permanente parking lot instead of the shopping center parking lot, and it took me forever to get back out. That part of town is very busy during the week. And I knew I had to be back before the caregiver, so I just came home.
The mail hadn't been delivered yet, so when the caregiver gets here, I will have her check it.
Pork and beans today. Why? Beans were on sale from Amazon. And cooking beans allows me to use up other things in the refrigerator. Like carrots, onions...... and grapes. It's not crazy. Maybe it is crazy. Grapes have grape juice. Natural sugar.
