I get $23 a month in food stamps because "I make too much" So, I am going to guess that my ex-roommate lost her food stamps when she got approved for her $120 a day welfare. It is for two people (her son as well) but still. Makes me mad.
Jim, $0.76 a day is good money. If you budget wisely, you could live well.
In my world, we are expected to follow instructions, discharge our duties, and not allow our personal feelings to interfere with what we are paid to do. Fair enough. You can't walk off the line, just because you don't like certain policies.
I can tell you that sometimes we all need to take a pause, and think about what we're doing and why we're doing it. I saw this news clip, and thought to myself, we could all learn a lesson from it. It certainly sparks a conversation.
I’m going to say it because I really don’t give a S#!+ anymore
Recall and deport Newsom and all that have stood by to let these POS burn LA , there’s word that Portland is next , paid Marxist Socialists on a rampage.
other than that , weathers fine .
I agree Newsom has to go. It was his job to send in the troops. but he failed to do so. However, back in the pandemic times, he did send in the troops to close down a Christian preschool because they (the teachers) did not force two-year-olds to wear a mask. Seems to me his priorities are mixed up. Oh, by the way, he and his friends refused to wear masks, but that is a different story...
Clint Eastwood is still alive, but he just celebrated his 94th birthday recently. I don't know if anyone would vote for him due to his age. I would, but that is just me. Gavin has eyes on the presidency, but I seriously doubt he will get it. Got help us if he does...
Changing the subject, has anyone got any experience with Charter Arms, or Taurus revolvers? The reason for the question is it is getting harder for me to be able to rack the slide back on my S&W 9mm. It is impossible to clean correctly so I am thinking of switching to a revolver. No need to disassemble a revolver to clean it. I used to carry a S&W revolver back in my security job days, but that was a 686 with a 4-inch barrel. Today, that weapon sells for $919. A bit too much for my budget. And of course, it would be difficult to conceal in my fanny pack. I am looking at sub nose 38's, and have narrowed it down to two, possibly three. I would prefer to stick with S&W, but the cheapest one they sell (Looking at Sportsman Warehouse since they "gave" me a store credit card with a $400 limit.) is $465 with California's ridiculous gun tax. Also, it is double action only and only holds five rounds. The Taurus is what I am leaning towards as it holds six rounds and is double/single action. The Charter arms is also double/single action, but like the Smith it only holds five rounds. Also, it is stainless and the other two are black. The Taurus is also the cheapest even after the gun tax it comes out to only $335. I have heard of all both manufacturers but was just wondering if anyone had any experience with them. I have been researching the Taurus, and it seems to be very reliable. I have to wait for the physical credit card to get here before I can purchase it as I only had a 15-minute window to use the new card on their website when I got it. I had tried to buy the Simith, but their website would not do it because it was $65 over the limit. They also did not give me any option to split payments on two cards, or I would have the Smith by now. It was only then I looked for more 38's and found the Taurus.
I would lean away from double action only revolver if I were you. The trigger pull may be heavier. This causes the hand holding the gun to move the gun slightly off target for some . You could have a harder time qualifying. For range qualifications, I have always preferred single action fire with revolvers. You have all the time in the world to acquire your target, **** the hammer, take a breath, then gently pull the trigger without your hand involuntarily moving the gun off target.
I have always liked the little 5 shot .38 models of S&W. But with a snub nose, you will lose accuracy. Another problem with range qualifications.
My revolver is a 6" Colt .357. Not for concealed carry. Too big. Incredibly accurate, and packs enough firepower. Not practical for your fanny pack
It will cost money. But a good gun shop will clean your gun for you. Just explain it to them. They may work with you on pricing. Or ask someone from the church, who you can trust. Ask your pastor if anyone in the congregation is law enforcement. Even the gun range people might help you.
My opinion is that a small Glock would be best. Every trigger pull is consistent and light. They conceal well. They are accurate. The slide doesn't rack all the way back for disassembly. Very few moving parts to clean and lube. No external safety to fumble with when under duress.
Another accurate gun, which I favor for personal use, is the old Colt .45. Those can be tuned for trigger weight and recoil compensation. You just need a large enough fanny pack.
It's too bad that you can't use a safety holster. I don't like fanny packs. I have used them. But they are not ideal.
