Unfortunately, I’ve got to get other responsibilities done before I can get back on this project. Buuuuut, I got a couple of things done. I cleaned up the distributor and painted it with the Power Steering Pump. The black of the pulleys really calm down the aluminum of the brackets. Here’s some engine candy to look at until I can get back on it. As always, thanks for looking guys!

I found a good way to hold the pump so I could get paint 360* without having to lay it down.

I removed everything off I could and put a few coats on.

Maybe you've already discussed it or simply realize it, but I'm wondering if that oil pan sump will clear the crossmember and steering linkage?

That is the pan for a mid 90’s F150. I don’t have the stock cross member and steering set up in my truck. Earlier in my project I did a CV swap. I purposely changed to that oil pan to clear the CV front crossmember and get the engine pretty low.

Father’s Day came and I got the opportunity to do anything I wanted to. I chose to “play” in the garage on my truck. When I bought my CV kit, I didn’t really like the part for the rear bushing of the LCA. I went on a search and found these by Range Industries. They bolt on and have supplied shims for geometric adjustability.

I unbolted the CV front end and cleaned the surface rust off of the frame from the cab forward. I mixed up some Zero Rust with SPI medium reducer and TP Tools synthetic hardener to paint with. A couple of coats and it was ready to be reassembled. I’ve almost got caught up with Honey Do list and the summer craze with broken AC. My next plan, is to assemble the drivetrain and install it in the chassis. Thanks for looking.

Yeah, I purchased the Range Industries rear carrier parts for the S550 Mustang rear end. I haven't installed it yet, but it looks to eb very well made. I am also looking at getting the Mustang electronic assist power steering adapter from them.

SH944, my friend has the Mustang electric steering for his 73. I haven’t seen it yet to see what mounts he used. I am glad I held out on the mount that originally came with the kit. This mount is so much nicer looking and, to me at least, is a cleaner look. I need to get a picture with the frame painted so that I can show the world how it looks like without a rusty background.

My son and I went to the Street Rod Nationals here in Louisville. We enjoyed the weather and cars. Once I got home I was motivated to get some work done. I’ve been puttering around with small details on the engine and waiting to install the drivetrain permanently. I finished bolting down the lower intakes and got the rest of my driveline parts set up. My son and I got the engine off of its stand and added the pilot bearing, flywheel, clutch disc, and pressure plate. We put a new hydraulic throw out bearing in the transmission and mated them together. He helped me line it all up and gently place them in. There was no cursing or stress. All in all a great day together. Here he is helping me and acting silly (like he’s holding the whole drivetrain). The engine looks great in the frame. Thanks for looking.

My son was a big help

It’s finally home!

It’s been a hot minute since I’ve done much work. At least nothing worth posting about. So I got a kit and rebuilt the injectors. I dismantled them and ran them through my ultrasonic machine.

Here I’m using a brass punch to set the little filters.

Tools and parts.
