Just bought an Odyssey Extreme Performance AGM for the 2016 Escape for $260 through NAPA with a 20% off coupon (INTERIOR) saving $65 off the regular price. Will be ready for store pick up tomorrow. Deals and discounts are out there, sometimes you just have to be persistent.

The other parts stores had discounts as well, but the AGM battery was not subject to the discount.

 

I bought a Weize AGM in August for our 2003 VW Beetle for a steal of a deal compared to even the FLA that were available. It has a 36 month warranty and based on the reviews I saw during my research it seemed like a good deal. Time will tell of course, but so far it has been a good purchase.

Maybe it is a crap battery worse than Optima. We are hopeful that it will last for many years to come and provide fun in the sun for the Beetle and my wife.

When a website is not secure, that doesn't mean it is a "scam site". It means that it is not available in https, but remains available in http. And in this particular case, there was double entendre with the word "security", as shall become self evident further below.

I made an error in post #156 above. I stated that I had bought a group 96R Odyssey Extreme for our 2016 Escape with a 20% off coupon from NAPA. Turns out the battery is an Odyssey Performance, but is still built with TPPL (Thin Plate Pure Lead) materials and is a very good battery to find for 20% off.

I have corrected the error with a strikethrough for future readers.

 

Menards has some off brand Korean ones called FVP for about $190 each...they might be fine too but I'm all in on day 1 if Wally world started offering the Everstart Platinum just because they have a good reputation for selling quality batteries.

 

I get all of my batteries at wally world, never had an issue with any of them, that I can recall in the last 15 years....

Plus, no other store, has as many locations as Walmart does.... if you need it replaced on Warranty, they are on the next corner around the block.

put 2 new ones in the 7.3 Excursion last year, the ones that came with the truck were six years old.
