Darwin noticed the same thing. Unless God had a rather limited imagination I would say you are seeing "proof" of evolution.

And BroncoMTR, I think enemy is a bit strong.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I don't think these days were the same units of time we know of. It has been written that a thousand years are as a day to the Lord but I say to you that they are as a watch in the night(a watch was 4 hours) I don't kmow if I quoted the verse word for word, I am still trying to find it. Anyway this means that a day to God can be like a thousand years or even 4 hours to Him could be a thousand years. Or in a more interpretive sense our concept of a timeline may be completely unapplicable.
I tend to not let small things like this create a division but instead focus on the things we have in common as Christians that bond us as brothers. It makes good debate but is not worth division over.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Yep.

I believe the world has design just by direct observation. A new born baby, Glazier park in Canada, mountain top vistas, the beauty of the sea and on and on. If there is design to this world I conclude there must be intelligence behind the design and I seek to know and understand this designer/creator God.

I have big problems with the classical evolution of ooze becoming intelligent thinking reasoning creating people.

One of the universal laws of physics is that all things as we know them, proceed from order to disorder. IE if you take a pocket watch and put it in a bag and shake it for 10 billion years is will come apart into pieces. Conversely, if you put a bag of parts in a bag and shook them for 10 billion years they will not automatically assemble themselves together and start running like a fine Swiss watch.

Another simple yet big problem with evolution is the time line. What does evolution say about how years ago life popped up on the time line. 150 million? Anyway, where is all the dirt? Yeah dirt. Dirt builds up about 1 inch every thousand years. We have only what 12 inches max top soil dirt around the world. If the world were so old we would have huge amounts of top soil and silt from top soil in our oceans. We don't have the dirt or silt.

I could go on an on about the problems of evolution, today's scientists have big difficulties defending all the problems with evolution.

I think the designer creator God has tried to touch a fallen world and the ancient document, the Bible, is the thing we have to explain where we came from, how we should care about one another, and where we are going.

I am still learning. I hope I never stop listening to others and trying to understand were people are coming from. I believe we are all really seeking intimacy/understanding of/with a Creator/Designer/God.

My the Creator(Designer) bless you.

Greg(creator/modifier Ford 460 thing-- ooga ooga!)

Man-- sorry so long!

Sinjin, I put JK after enemy, meaning "just kidding". Then I went on to say that the debating makes us both wiser. Just to clear that up. You're no enemy, just someone with a difference of opinion.

74crwcb, nice post, you make some good points. I am not sure I totally agree with the topsoil thing as any major cataclysm would upset the topsoil. I have picked many fossils in my day and the strata they are found in never looks like topsoil although they obviously had to have topsoil to support the foodchain for a heavily populated area. The theory does have a certain validation though.
I do agree that the evidence in the obvious would just nulify the total evolution theory. I usually am pretty understanding and think that a limited amount of evolution may have it's place in creation. But the wonder of all that is around us is just too amazing for there not to have been some sort of intervention. I mean EVERYWHERE you look the things we take for granted are just so totally amazing. Like the human brain, or the food chain. Just the way a flower opens its blossom and offers a tantalizing treat to the insects and birds that are vital to that plants reproduction. The ocean currants and tides. I mean I could go on forever.
And now I am going to do something I seldom do and step on some toes. I just fail to see how any sane human could look at all the wonderful things that surround us and say that there was not the hand of a creator involved in it. You people can nitpick around about timelines and this evidence or that theory. Get a life!! Just the fact that electrons move and you are sitting at a computor communicating with another human could NEVER happen with out divine intervention. You would have to just be blind or in some kind of denial to miss it or say that there was no divine intervention.

At the same time you fundamentalists need to take the handcuffs off God and let Him out of the cage. Like I said before, If He wanted us to know every detail about creation He would have told us. He didn't, so don't dwell on it. If seven of Gods days are actually 3 1/2 billion of our years, so what. What's to argue about, He did it so what difference does it make how long it took.

By the way I found that verse Psalm 90:4, For a thousand years in your sight are like yesterday when it is past, and like a watch in the night. Actually a watch was 3 hours in Hebrew time.
Then again in 2Peter 3:8, But beloved do not forget this one thing, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years and a thousand years as one day.

What age did he die
Was it of natural cause

I think he did die of natural causes, but a while back this same discussion led some people to post "evidence" that his family claimed that the whole story was false about him refuting his theory and accepting Christ.

There's a different link with his last words...I think...

"The hour of departure has arrived, and we go our ways–I to die and you to live. Which is the better, God only knows."

Interesting stuff.
