Sounds like you’re on your way to a resolution. 👍 (edit: sounds like you’ve got it now)
This is the style I used back in the day. I’m sure it was the “best” of what was in stock at the store and recommended by the parts guy. I’m not saying to use this one, just showing this option. It is a lot better than the 2 bolt style in your photo.
2-4/0 Ga. No-Crimp Three-Way Positive Lead Battery Terminals (1 per pack) https://a.co/d/4Zrcxsc
That is a lot better than what I have currently. I think I'm going to order a set of those military ones from Amazon. I might have to buy longer bolts but I like those a lot. And it comes with lugs, and heat shrink and, new terminal covers. Pretty good deal too. I appreciate your help! I'm hoping my truck is going to crank it in the morning!
Tristan, put some grease on those bare wires, it'll help conduct electricity and prevent corrosion. I know I walk my own path but...my negative terminals are set that I can press down on them and twist them into place tightly and reverse that procedure to take them off. I don't need tools to remove them for charging or to work on my electrical system. All of my equipment is set up that way, cars, trucks, tractors, everything except my GM stuff. They all also have grease smeared on them periodically to help with conductivity and prevent corrosion. None of my batteries anywhere have that white fungus growing on them. Flame on if you wish but I always say, "Don't knock it until you try it".
I didn't record my startup this morning because it ended up being 45°. It was supposed to be cold but, that just shows how accurate the weatherman is. But resting voltage after sitting all night was 12.5, after turning the key and my LED light came on, voltage dropped to 12.3, and the truck fired right off. Voltage drop was to 11.4, hopefully that was all the problem was. I won't know till I get another cold morning. Thanks for all of your help!
When the day comes that you, or anyone else, wants to build some real battery cables with solid brass connectors, this is the place to get them. I used to build whatever I needed out of 2 gauge welding cable. Nice and flexible for easy routing. They carry wire gauges from 22 all the way up to 4/0. https://allbatterysalesandservice.co..._list_limit=36
I was looking at this kit. They also have a winter version with bigger cables which would be the one I would probably get just so I can have bigger cables.
When I replaced my battery cables back in 2018 you could get Motorcraft replacement cables for faitly cheap. Got oem cable off Amazon for $100. Don't even think there avaliable anywhere now.
Cheapest way to make a set of cables will go to your local welding supply place and get welding cable like mentioned before. It's fairly cheap there compared to some of the ones posted and can get ends there also. Just need a crimper to crimp ends on. It's generally high quality cable also.

Sorry brother but my anti-virus says there is a trojan on that website.
You can still get this for $100.13. It's not Motorcraft, but it's quality is enough for me to run it on my truck when the need arose. Put it on several years ago now, still going strong. https://allbatterysalesandservice.co...cable-2115-001

I'm a little confused, you linked the same kit I already linked?
