Trailer safety/chain hook woes

What kind of shackles are y'all using to make it easier to hook up your trailer? Those square profile safety chain hooking points on are stoopid and don't play well with others.
Pix appreciated

5/8” D-rings/shackles work perfect on mine.

Classic idiot Ford. 6 years of the same ineffective safety chain attachment design requiring paying customers to find a band aid. Sounds like a good lawsuit if an accident occurs and customer had to jerry rig the Ford design to connect standard safety chains. Never buy another Ford, they just don't get it.

Must be certain years or f250's only?

My 2019 F350 with 3" receiver has no issues with the safety chains, 5/16 or 3/8 both fit the holes.

Yeah, it sucks, but it's only $20. Rather have a shackle than a Ram.

I have the same ride, but tow a small trailer so the chains do not fit without the D-rings. Seems like Ford would find a simple solution to cover all trailers. No biggie.

Maybe it's just me, but it seems like this didn't do anything to help the OP. It is unfortunate that you're not happy with your Ford truck, but there are other solutions.

Yep, it appears the 2.5" receivers are the ones with issues.

I was looking at my RX the other day and realized the sleeve did not come with it. I also noted how the chain attachment points looked a bit difficult to get to. Will see once I figure out what sleeve to use for my 2" draw bars.

I rented a 2020 with a 2.5” receiver and now own a 22 with a 3” receiver. The place to hook the chains are the same, and I couldn’t get the hooks on my camper through them. I ended up buying a set of 3/4” D Ring shackles like others and it now works. I wanted the hammer locks, but these shackles were less $$.

Regarding 2.5" vs 3" - my truck has the 3" and it's same same flawed design as the 2.5"
