Weird sticker on frame next to front leaf spring mount?

There was one on either side of the truck and I've seen it before but never really thought about it but today I tried cleaning it off but there was nothing written on it. What are these stickers originally for/ what information do they hold?

Most likely the part identification tag. Probably had the part number maybe a barcode.

That sticker had a two letter code, that was underlined, and, was upside down.

The reason the two letters were upside down is because that is how the frames are initially assembled in production. Upside down.

The original labels were white, with black letters.

I knew the specific guy at KTP who finally convinced the powers that be to change those labels to black, with white letters, so that they would be less visible through the wheel wells.

This guy was a very passionately proud plant engineer who bled Ford blue, and Ford was lucky to have someone who cared as much as he did.

The two letters, btw, are the suffix to the Ford engineering numbers for frames, where the basic part number is 5005.

All frames are 5005, so that part isn't printed on the label. The only the last two letters are needed to distinguish one frame from another.

For example, your regular cab long bed might have said "AB" before it was painted over.

By contrast, my crew cab chassis cab still says "MN" in black letters on a white label. (Written uspide down)

The change to white letters on a black label didn't occur until calendar year 2001 at KTP. Not sure about what went down and when at Ford's truck plant in Cuautitlán Mexico.

I know I'm gettin old, but... Am I seeing double?

You still have the renmants of a lift?

Is that why you are burning through tires?

Why does it look like that sticker was strategically placed to hide a rusty hole?

Maybe the sticker held salt behind it causing the rusty hole…

I do still have the bent lift kit installed along with the bent factory spring hanger. I am going to buy a new full front end lift kit to replace everything including the factory spring hanger. My tires have been wearing perfectly even after the last alignment but my truck pulls to the right. The reason I have not already bought the lift kit replacements is because I still have Joel's hpop. He has been waiting on it for quite a while now but there's been a lot going on. I have not been able to afford a new hpop for my truck. I am just going to deal with the pulling to the right until I can get a new hpop so that I can return Joel's to him. Unfortunately with everything going on lately that is the best option I have. I also have leaking hpop lines again. I went and bought all new fittings to replace all the fittings that came with those cheap hoses and everything has been fine but in the span of the last month or so three of the four crimp on fittings that are crimped onto the hoses themselves have started leaking. There's nothing I can do about that. When I buy my new hpop I will buy some new CNC Fab hoses to go with it. There has been just too many expenses lately trying to run my business and get it on the right foot. And there's been a lot of other things going on besides that. Things have been a bit tough on and off lately. It is what it is. My main priority is to get Joel his hpop back and then from there I have new rotors and calipers so that I can replace everything from the hub out and then I will replace the lift kit as well and have another alignment done with new tie rods and everything. But I have other things I have to do before I can get to that point.

The new lift kit I'm buying replaces the factory spring hanger with a taller factory spring hanger. It's basically just a taller version of the factory setup. Much better design and quality then the crappy kit that came on that front end when I got it.

Sorry for the paragraph. How you been?

That is not a rusty hole thank god. It is just a pile of adhesive. My frame is in very good shape with minor surface rust which you can see in the picture. The only major rust I have / had was on the cab in the rocker panel on the passenger side. Or lack thereof of rocker panel I should say. The windshield leaked before I got the truck then it would always fill the glove box up and standing water would sit in the bottom of the cab for who knows how long. The truck sat for a long time too before I got it. It always had standing water in the cab that would always fill up the rocker panel and it rusted it out. The way I fixed it is not pretty but it's better than a hole. I took some sheet metal and tapped it into place with a hammer to form it to the correct shape. Cut out all the rust, used a bunch of rust killer to finish it off before painting it and then just tapped that steel into place and tacked it in a few places with a MIG welder. Of course my dad did the welding, not me. Now that I think about it there is one more spot that's a little rusty. The bed drain rails. There's rails connecting across the back of the bed drain the water out and the one on the very front of the cab was full of leaves and rusted the corners out a bit. Other than that I don't have any rust on the truck other than visible surface rust like in the picture. It's in pretty good shape.
