Rebellious cold start
As some suggested, I went back and replaced existing Melling with a fresh Melling.
Forscan consistently showed no ICP pressure. Replaced with known good IPR and could barely approach 200.
Then I did what I should have done first, check the wiring. Once I unwrapped the pigtail from tape and loom, it was easy to see the bare wires extending 1" away from the plug. Replaced pigtail and drained batteries.
Next day with fresh batteries it took a very long time but it eventually fired and instantly purred! I suspect all the fooling around in the reservoir plus two R&R of the lpop introduced some air into the system thus the long crank.
During test drive, 1.5hr, I noticed severe fuel leak. Got back to base camp and rebuilt fuel bowl. All is well now. I think I won this round, with a great deal of help from this group...Thank you!
PS...could the shorting out of the two pigtail wires do any permanent damage to other components?? IDM??
