Thanks for the reply. Confirmed what I was thinking but good to hear the explanation.
Thanks again for the spreadsheet, keeps us from driving our friends and spouses crazy during the wait.
Got nervous because the trackers just changed today extending my delivery time another week; however just got an email from my dealer that it was just delivered to them tonight! Finally will be able to pick up on Friday. 2022 F250 King Ranch 7.3 gas. Ordered 4/9 - what a wait!
Users supply username vin and order number when they join.
They then have the option of adding a build date by separate form.
Some of the columns are created by deciphering the VIN, but most of the data is retrieved about every 2 hours from the Ford customer database, which is where the other one-off trackers pull their data from.
If you are familiar with the Mach E tracker, there is a Raw Data button on the bottom. This spreadsheet is based on the same data feed that you can see there. It's sent in JSON format.
Have you considered including the city of the dealership on the spreadsheet? It could possibly help get a better understanding of shipping time frames, for example, I'm in El Paso, Texas and my shipping time does not compare to someone in Austin or San Antonio, Texas just because of the vast distance and different rail yards associated with cities in Texas. My delivery rail yard is in Albuquerque (I'm 90% certain the ramp code is CR4B) 4 hours away and in another state. I see other people getting their trucks delivered in Texas after mine was shipped and I always wonder what city in Texas they're in.

Back in the olden days, I had a column with the city of the Dealer (and before that the Dealer Name).
I had a few users concerned that someone could use the spreadsheet to identify an incoming truck and then try to buy it out from under the rightful buyer.
I therefore removed both those columns. I don't think I'd add back in the dealer name, but I could add back in the city. I dunno, anyone object to that?
I agree more data is better, but I try to balance privacy with data accessibility.

Only issue I could see with that are all the towns that only have one dealership.

Oh ok yeah that's understandable and I'm all for privacy without issues as well just thought I'd ask and see if it helped others like myself. I could see the benefit in large states that have many dealerships to chose from but like Shane60 mentioned, some cities only have 1 dealership. I thought because you signed and ordered a vehicle it was locked in to you only?

Since I've been doing this (not really that long) I've not encountered a buyer that had a truck sold out from under them, either a current order, or in the past. I think it would be extremely unlikely and would take a dealer that knowingly screws their 1st buyer for more $. The vast majority of dealers wouldn't think about doing this, but when I hear stories of people having dealers adding accessories during PDI without the buyer's knowledge I recognize there are some unscrupulous dealers around.
Would it happen? Unlikely. Could it happen? If an unethical buyer connected with an unethical dealer, it's possible.
Right now my F-450 is in the UP system heading toward Texas. Is there any way to check on the car's progress like you do with the CSX system. Checked with the dealer on the VVR and it shows it was received at Junction Point UP railroad Gatyard, Illinois on Oct 2. Car is BNSF300766

You can give provide that same rail car number when calling the CSX system and it should locate it the same.

That's unfortunate and true I could see that happening. Anyway I thought I would ask and provide that opinion in case it helped others. Maybe you can do a poll, but just my two cents... Thanks for the work you have done so far, it has helped me and kept my impatience in check haha
Dealer just called and the truck was delivered last night. It’s 10 -1/2 weeks from order to dealer lot. Spent the last two weeks at the railyard 30 miles away. I’ll post some pics later.
Thanks Phoenixfla!!

Salesman at the dealership I ordered from added some stuff and it felt like he tried to sneak it through. Luckily I reviewed the purchase order before signing. I missed the vinyl to cloth change, but caught the heated rear defroster which bumped it up significantly because it required a package add on. It's a regular cab work truck, I don't need that sh**!
