It ended up not staying there long. But now I have another railroad question. The rail car is very close to where it will get unloaded and the current status is "placed at industry". What the heck does that mean?
Thanks!
"Placed at industry" sounds like it's been delivered to the customer and is at the end of its journey. Industry means it's no longer on the railroad's tracks, but a customer's "industry track".
Sooo, dealer just emailed asking for a good to pickup tomorrow!!! Hip, Hip, Hooray!
It's at the dealer! That being said, both MACH-E and Ford Order Tracking show it delivered to the dealer...Tracking Spreadsheet..not so much.
In regards to the other truck (under Gsnyd00), both sites list it as having shipped 10/2. No shipment date on tracking spreadsheet. Seems like the updates from the Ford databases aren't happening very quickly.
On another subject, the MACH-E site is not bringing up WS for either truck, but they are coming up from the Ford Order Tracking site. Keep getting the following message:
"Please check back later. The window sticker has not yet been released for this vehicle".

Placed at industry means its arrived at the final rail yard before getting on a carrier(truck) and going to the dealer.
Does anyone have a plain English translation for this? Specifically what are SIMS orders? I saw this over on the BOF.
"Balance to go SIMS orders have been created for 22MY Super Duty using commodities still available at the Plant."
Sims orders are essentialy dealer stock orders which are configured based on what sells in a particular area. Ford is saying that they will build some stock orders with the parts they have kicking around.

i always wondered who ordered those kind of trucks. 🤔
I've added a new delivered tab to the spreadsheet. Previously there was (and still is) a tab showing the delivered trucks in roughly the order they were received.
*Some of the delivered trucks are unable to be added to this tab because the Ford tracker never reflects them as "Delivered". The entries go right from "In Transit" to no longer responding on the Ford server. Because I don't have those delivered dates I am currently unable to add them to the delivered tab, but it is a relative small number of trucks.
Ok, back to the new tab. There is now a "Delivered - Sorted by Order to Delivery" tab. This will sort the trucks where the fastest delivered truck is at the top (from the day it was order to the day it was delivered), and the slowest at the bottom. I was expecting to see some options were taking a lot longer, but there is not a whole lot of rhyme or reason to it.
A few datapoints:
Quickest delivery from order: 35 days (Platinum)
Slowest delivery so far: 176 days (XLT)
Some Tremors delivered in as fast as 42 - 47 days, as slow as 174 days, so that does not seem to have a large impact.
The fastest an Adaptive Steering truck was delivered was 60 days followed by 68, (King Ranch), so even if AV is available in KR, it seems to slow scheduling a little.
The fastest an F-450 was delivered was 65 days, but more frequently they are 75+ days and there are quite a few around 150 days or more, so 450s may take longer.
I really expected this data to be more telling of what options slow scheduling and production, but for every instance an option took a long time, I find another truck where it only took a short time.

My truck was one of those. Delivered 9/22. Vin ending in 04583.

Cool to see the data in use. My gut (because I really have no idea if this is how it works) tells me something as simple as dealer allocation keeps us from seeing those expected results of certain options or trims that slow scheduling.
Hypothetically, take identical builds. One order entered months ago, but at a dealer that has 100 other orders in the system and one order entered recently but at a dealer that does not have big queue of orders and has the allocation - suddenly the recent order gets picked for scheduling and built. The person that ordered months ago is confused as to why they haven't been scheduled yet. It may not have been commodity or options related at all but rather the early order had 90 more orders to compete with at their dealership.
Factor in commodities and options to further complicate everything.
