I'm on my third cam sensor, 2 dealer grey ones, now a rockauto motorcraft du87. It is a slight improvement but no cure. $1600 injectors, completely replaced fuel system,(all of it in-tank pump, new ss feed line from wix filter head to rear of each head, returns from front through new aeromotive regulator back into new ss return to tank) I've done batteries and cables, an ebay IDM, pulled the GEM no noticeable damage water or otherwise, couple IPR valves, water pump and oil cooler, latest was drilling out the banjo bolts on the feed side for better fuel flow this morning. That last one has made a change, not a cure but some my mass fuel desired numbers are improving and I hear a difference in idle. Time will tell.
Yep, the rough idle miss. As contagious as covid, expensive as a strippers phone number, and about as curable as a case of herpes. Likely contracted from said stripper. Welcome to the club.

These 7.3s are all so picky about what sensors they get and such LOL, I would look for chaffed wires or something of the sort, you never know,

I have unwrapped the whole engine harness inspecting each wire like a coked up spider monkey. Ohm'd every wire back to the 42 pin. The herpes bit is a joke but sometimes I wonder.

Yanno it seems less and less like a joke every time an issue rises 😂
Just throwing out stupid things you probably hve already done but worth a shot, unplugged the IPC sensor? UVCH?
Ahh this is your thread I'm not going to hijack it with my BS. Thanks for trying though. That's what keeps me coming back here, people wanting to help people.

Nahhh its ok LOL, helping out is what the forums are for,
Just read a post here of someone testing their ipr solenoid by putting it in the oven and warming it to 230* and checking resistance of the coil. I thought it was a clever idea and figured I'd pass it on.

Interesting concept, I may have to research that some,
