Fuel is the other key ingredient. A fuel pressure rig could help with diagnosing also.

In addition to the things to check above, get a way to do a buzz test. Forscan with blue tooth dongle or whatever.

And check the underside of the harness that runs to the 42 pin connector over the driver side valve cover, it can chafe on the VCs and cause shorts.
The odd thing is when the regulator shorted on my truck the oip pressure still fluctuate a little bot for some reason, maybe cranking speed?

I will have to do the buzz test I have a Bluetooth adapter,

Those wires shorting out would only kill one bank of injectors? Unless it shorts the whole IDM and nothing fires which is entirely possible, would I still be hearing something that sounds like injectors clicking?

I have had the drain open whith the key on and it isnt much pressure but it is there, that may be something else that could be an issue

Also, you can check the ohms on the coil of the IPR, I can’t remember what a new reads but someone will point that out.

I didn't see it asked..but are you sure you are getting oil pressure while cranking? Double check your oil in case you haven't...look for oil in your coolant and fuel filter...get some new batteries in there. I had 4.5 on 5 year batts..these things really need a lot of juice to run. A dead cell will wreak havoc. Throwing some simple stuff out there...diagnose then buy parts, not the other way around...you will get there!

I will have to check that, wont tell us if something s stuck in it but will tell us if the coil itself is dead,

2 new batteries from interstate both tested about 720 CCA,

The HPOP is full of oil and the oil is all the way up to full on the dipstick,

Thats pretty cool!

This is a stupid question that you have prolly already been asked,

Have you tried replacing the cam position sensor with a FORD or MOTORCRAFT sensor? Any other brand will cause all sorts of missfire havoc from my little experience,

Yep, the rough idle miss. As contagious as covid, expensive as a strippers phone number, and about as curable as a case of herpes. Likely contracted from said stripper. Welcome to the club.

I had a awful miss for about 3 months before I did some research and found I got a random CPS when I replaced it, Got a Motorcraft one and all issues were solved,

$20 part making me think I needed $1600 injectors,
