Putting any body parts in there in the first place is asking for life altering injuries. I don't claim to be any kind of expert in operating this type of equipment by any means, but common sense would dictate that using an object to unjam the rotating assembly with the equipment shut off would be by far the safest method, would it not?
Know a Lady who when she was 17 had the leg nearly torn off. It was re-attached but wow.
OUCH!!! I can't imagine what that was like, having to go through that. But, likely the result of a very preventable occurrence. Hopefully a very hard lesson learned.
I've got friends that hunkered down with family -- just to the West of Lake Maurepas. That would put them right in the eye's path, but at least they're situated where wind driven water shouldn't be an issue. All the water in Maruepas and Ponchartrain should have pushed just about due North.
They'd have had 100+ MPH winds at their place. Haven't heard from them since yesterday, but I suspect that power, water, cell towers, etc. are all down today so we're just patient over here, waiting for good news.....
