I have a 2007 f550 6.0 powerstroke that will not go into overdrive when I hit the tow haul button the light comes on but it does not shift down and when I hit the tow haul button again the light goes off and has no change I'm running about 3,000 RPMs at 70 miles an hour on the interstate can someone help me out with what might be the problem with this please
I never knew that the tow/haul button activated an overdrive gear. I was under the impression it changed the shift points. That would be why you aren't seeing any RPM change when you are toggling on/off at 70 mph

II have been reading up on that and see that comment a lot of other things but why am I running 3000 RPMs at 70 miles an hour everything else shifts good but it seems like when it gets to drive it don't go into an overdrive ..just don't seem right to me
The first thing to do is to read the codes. You can read them with Forscan, or take it to a good independent shop, or a Ford dealer.
How many shifts do you feel from a standing start up to at least 55 MPH? Tow/haul doesn't turn overdrive on or off, it just changes when it shifts.
There is no check engine light or wench light on the dash so I didn't think it would read a code ... It changes gears fine and I can feel it shift 4 times
