Tow Haul Button
When you push in the haul / tow button can you see an increase in the rpms ? Never used this before and thought that when it was pushed on the freeway, it took the truck out of overdrive.

I believe it changes the shift points so it keeps the engine close to peak torque and it also takes advantage of engine braking so you don't have to use your brakes as much. So no it won't necessarily take it out of overdrive.

It all depends. Are you referring to the "Tow/Haul" on the 5R110 or the "OD lockout" on the 4R100? The 4R100 simply locks out OD, and never allows it to upshift to OD when that mode is enabled by pressing the button.
On the 5R110, the "Tow/Haul" mode still allows upshifts to OD, but it changes shift points(up and down), and the torque converter lockup schedules.
Totally different strategies for towing.
