its such a complication for some. Troubled times, the things we have to worry about.
that includes dusty dashboards too! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Dusty dashboards matter. 😂
Awhile ago, there was a serious thread started about if you can wash your truck while it’s snowing. Blew my mind. Just sell the truck and buy a bus pass dude. 😂

no kidding?? Hmmm, well if water comes out da hose, I guess you can wash!
So, I washed my truck Sunday evening (the roof too, with a ladder), and while drying I noticed some very light scratches on the mirror cap that I had never noticed before. Last night I decide to try some ScratchX on it and noticed that someone/something hit my marker light on that same mirror. I dont know how I didn't see it on Sunday while washing, the moisture in it makes me think it must have been cracked already at that time though.
I always fold the mirrors in when Im parked in front of my house, so some jackass had to get super close to actually make contact. The $120-130 for the part sucks, but the actual RnR worries me. The videos I've found so far make it look there is potential for damage to other pricey bits in the process.

That sucks, almost looks like a rock chip maybe?? Those mirrors are crazy expensive.
I hadn't considered it being from a rock, just because its had very little use lately, mostly just around town stuff. Although I did think the size and shape seemed odd if it was from another vehicles mirror. Maybe there is no jackass haha.
Yeah, theres several hundred dollars worth in pieces to remove, just to get to that light.
I had a rock take out one of my mirror marker light covers and it looks the same as yours. I got it fixed and then a week later, I had a rock take out the other side marker. 🤬
Ford used a low grade and poor impact plastic for those markers. I went to the paint protection shop and had the marker lights covered with strips of X-Pel and so far so good. The real test will be when I get back to work and travelling all gravel roads that has a lot of heavy traffic. Hopefully the film helps.
Couldn't sleep last night because my hip was bugging me. Luckily a guy on FTE needed to be schooled about regens. If you ever see me in a regen thread again, slap me. Saying the same thing over and over again and no matter how much info you give, guys don’t get it. 🤦♂️ It’s almost like me going into a washing the truck roof thread 😂
