Bad day to go to the range. Was out there about half an hour and then the skies opened up a furry of rain. It’s probably 1200ft from the range to the parking lot so I looked like a drowned rat by the time I made it to the truck.
ForCal is in a little battle over in the regen thread. I say little battle because him and the other guy aren’t understanding each other. I’m not understanding the other guy either. It’s quite funny. Good luck ForCal hahaha.
Sorry to hear you got rained out.
Yeah, it happens, someone quotes another, ignoring the context or what it was in response to.
Hey Teddy, I know its off topic for down here lol, but I assume your Limited has adaptive steering. When you park, truck off, with the wheels turned, maybe 20 degrees either way, does your steering wheel have a bunch of play in it? Ive noticed mine has inches of free play, same whether they are turned right or left, parked with engine off.

I haven’t noticed. I always park with my wheels straight. I’ll try it out and let you know. It’s so weird having a truck without a steering wheel that locks.
I just checked. Damn curiosity. If I have my tires pointed left 20 degrees, I have about 2” of play moving the wheel to the right and about 1” play moving it left. Vice versa if I have the wheels pointed right, more play to the left than right. When straight, I have about an inch either way. I just had my entire steering wheel assembly replaced so it should operate like new. 👍

Thank you. So maybe its kinda normal, or normal for adaptive. In some positions it has much less, to no free play, but in those turned positions there is a couple inches of zero resistance. Never felt anything like this in any other vehicle Ive owned.
I had my wife lightly wiggle the wheel back and forth and couldn't see any movement in the steering components underneath. I dont notice anything weird while actually driving.
