Im shocked that I haven’t had a power outage. Usually my subdivision gets 3 a week around dinner time. (Another reason I know the truck won’t power a smoker) They aren’t long outages though. Maybe an hour or two. Living in hurricane country like Bronco and Bowtie or even your ice storms, I would definitely have a generator as a back up. If the power goes out here, I still have water. If the power goes out at the acreage, I don’t. Our power company is a crown corporation (owned by the province) so when the power does go out, it’s all hands on deck.
Seriously. 3 outages a week. I don’t even set the clock in the spare room anymore unless I have guests coming. I live in the land of the blinking clock. 😂

2015 was a winter from snow hell. We were getting snow storms 2-3 times a week. We've been in this house since November 2018 and the house has electric heat and a heat pump. I had a 5000kw generator that would hardly give us enough juice to keep the house warm and couldn't use our oven and the power was usually out 3-4 times a week. 20000kw generator came online in November 2019. Our power went out once in May for an hour I don't mind it sitting there because I know at some point it will be there when needed and I kept the diesel generator for backup.

You need a half day at the gun range......I'm sure wifey has a vacation or sick day to burn. And then once the kids are down for the night and wifey is good on your attention.....meaning she won't require any......sit down in your new chair and knock back 3oz of Wild Turkey 101.

My wife has been with her company quite a while she has serious vacation. Plus she’s someone important and I am in neither boat. She said same thing: go to gun range. Ammo prices are outta control though $500 bucks for a case of 233 - this is like Obama era crap all over again. Might be a day of .22LR
