Not alot actually, but when we do, it usually lasts awhile. The biggest thing around here is from ice storms in winter. We went 2 weeks without power on the last big one.
its mostly a piece of mind thing, plus trying to get any big expenses & improvements done before we retire.

Man, down here it’s hurricane related and that’s a crap shoot. Couple years ago when people were fleeing the state we lost power for 24 hrs due to that hurricane.
I'm sure it happens more often down there.
We live in an area with alot of trees too, so all it takes is one big branch.
it's really not a big issue around here but like I mentioned, piece of mind, plus adds value to the home as well.

“Winter” 🙄
Hip is sore but not the hip I thought would be 🤷♂️ I’ll manage. Not my first rodeo rehabbing this kind of injury.
Im shocked that I haven’t had a power outage. Usually my subdivision gets 3 a week around dinner time. (Another reason I know the truck won’t power a smoker) They aren’t long outages though. Maybe an hour or two. Living in hurricane country like Bronco and Bowtie or even your ice storms, I would definitely have a generator as a back up. If the power goes out here, I still have water. If the power goes out at the acreage, I don’t. Our power company is a crown corporation (owned by the province) so when the power does go out, it’s all hands on deck.
Seriously. 3 outages a week. I don’t even set the clock in the spare room anymore unless I have guests coming. I live in the land of the blinking clock. 😂
