It's like a freaking war zone around here for the next few days. A couple streets over we have friends that spend four figures on fire works. Their neighbors spend similarly. It's like a professional fireworks display when they really get going. But walking down their street is taking your life in your hands. We stopped going there because I couldn't handle the thick layer of smoke. That and my wife didn't want to see someone get their fingers blown off.
The sheriff's deputy comes by asking who's blowing off all the (illegal) fireworks. No officer, nobody is shooting off (illegal) fireworks here. That smoke? It must be a grassfire nearby. Would you like a burger?
I have two sets of scaffolding (two story) out at the acreage. Sure helped while doing the siding and tin roof. A guy might not use them all the time but they are sure handy to have laying around.
We can buy the good stuff in Tampa area. They canceled the fireworks in our town so we will have our own. The nonsense related to this is getting out of hand.
Agreed. Way out of hand. You can buy the big mortars and such in Tampa? I didn't know that.
I haven't been to the fireworks here in years. Too many idiots. Frigging people can't drive sober, much less drunk. They shoot them off on a barge (sometimes 2) in front of the Riverwalk in downtown Jax. Last time we went down there we were with friends and had to park a good ways away and walk. No problem. People are headed down to the river and next thing we hear is tires squealing, metal crunching, and two cars jumping the sidewalk, going through a row of bushes, and smashing into parked cars in the hotel lot on the other side of the sidewalk. Thank God the people on the sidewalk saw and realized what was happening and were able to grab their kids and themselves and avoid getting hit. As suspected, one was under the influence and blew through the light and hit the other car broadside just in front of the passenger compartment. Miraculously, there were no serious injuries and at least one person went to jail. We said "screw it" after that. Our kids are grown so we can take it or leave it.
They are legal but we can’t get the industrial grade stuff. The fireworks on the island in the city park were cancelled this year due to covid but as I type this right now, I see some people setting some off in the field across from me. It’s not dark enough yet so they are just wasting money.
Fun fact. The city park here is almost 3 times the size of Central Park in NY. It’s one of the largest inner city parks in North America.
Do tell? I vaguely remember making a similar observation whilst reviewing my drone footage.
Jim, I’m done with that guy over in the other thread. I was going to rip into him about the snowflakes comments and him trying to change OPs questions around to suit his argument but it’s not worth the time. I gave him too much already. What’s the deal with the Honda trucks? Is there any meaning as to why you posted that?
I thought my simple scenarios were pretty straight forward. You know, almost as straight forward as attaching wiring to a frame. 😂

They're probably made in the same factory. Who knows? I also bought a rolling scaffold with adjustable uprights because we are going to paint our house this year. We've already done our bedroom and bath and it came in really handy to cut in around the ceiling. Saved a ton of ladder climbing and moving. I'm getting a case of the azz about painting so I don't know if Wifey and I will finish it or hire it out. Either way, I got a cool scaffold out of the deal.
Ah ha! We know you REALLY got this to wash the roof on the Superduty! You can't fool us, no sir!

I was just yanking his chain with the Honda comment. Calling us snowflakes cracked me up. What a schmuck.
My brother has that same scaffold. It came in very handy when I built shelves in his garage. You can just barely see the scaffold in the background on the right.

Actually, that is a great idea, Sir. I could put my wife up there with the bucket and wheel her around whilst she washes the roof. I would have to install a beer holder on the scaffold though. I could make it more interesting if I could talk her into going commando for that task. Now I see why you are several pay grades above me. One thing it's not for though is wheeling the sisters around. That would end in catastrophic failure!

You and Jim are in peril. He's going to start local and work his way down to Colorado on an A/K'ing mission. It's right there in the sig...
