Mercury M350 build thread
Floor patches are in, still need to re install the cab mount bracket and triangle bracket..
Removed the cab mount and triangle bracket from left side today as well..
Will have to make a section of the toe board and then install the quarter section of floor next and the lower door post to this side as well..
First think I did was free up the rear wheels, it was suggested that I just take a sledge hammer to the drums and break them to free the brake lining that were stuck to them but I thought better than that and saved them just in case there was a need for them by someone other than I
It took some doing but with persistence and a several hours aside I did get them off
Apparently the rims on it is the widow makers
Cut out what was bad and started to make a patch for the repair.
Had a difficult time stretching the metal deep enough to match the dish under the dimmer switch so cut a V and patched that after fitting in this patch
Then I fitting the front quarter floor section and welded it in
and this afternoon I removed the complete floor from the cab.
Next will be repairing the rear section of the floor and onto sandblasting the cab and floor then into epoxy..
Ford Trucks for Ford Truck Enthusiasts
Started removing what was left of the inner cab corners today
then the support beam/ rail that spans between the inner cab corners. Finding and drilling out the spot welds took a few hours
But I got it off finally and started making patches for the rotted areas of the floor
Should be at it again tomorrow to start welding them in..
Things are finally slowing down here enough I can get home before midnight now. Good luck with the truck and looking forward to seeing it progress!
Got those two patches in then started on that back brace ...
It would be handy if they sold this piece separately now that is a part of the complete floor they sell..
I also started massaging the inner cab corners so the actually fit in the corners and will need to repair the rear door post .
