With a warranty? Nah, not anyone's problem to look further than what he did. Thats a problem for Ford and their warranty to figure out, not the owner of a brand new truck.

It was another GM-ish first design failure situation from Ford. This didn't used to happen with Ford back in the day. Ford used to get it right most of the time, the first time.
It wasn't the oil pan, it was what they used to seal it to the block. I was on my 4th pan (due to the fact had to replace the pan everytime took it off) to fix the weeping/leak issues between the pan and the block. They finally did go back to a metal pan. Hopefully the plastic pan on the tranny does not leak.

problem with people today is they cant tie their shoes without help. i wouldnt expect some one to rebuild the engine in their backyard but if theres oil on the ground , wouldnt it spark the tinniest bit of curriousity to have a look ? guess its easier to join a forum and make a thread about it

Most dont know whats going on under the hood or under the vehicle. LoL.
So its a new vehicle every time warranty is up and then theres nothing for retirement later in life.

“yerp, the screw dilator thingy is wonky.”

They are still brewing Budweiser all day everyday.

I asked a mailman at the gas station what chassis his mail truck was. He said, “I dont know man. I just deliver mail.” I walked past the mail truck and looked thru the window at a Ford emblem on the steering wheel that stares back at him Monday-Saturday.

I have 20k miles on my ‘18 6.7. I’ll trade it in late this year or maybe Jan. ‘21 still under warranty. By then there will be late ‘20 models of the 7.3 (and hopefully ironed out the issues) or a ‘21 7.3 that Ford Hopefully tweaks to be even better. I don’t need a tow vehicle— I just like the SD’s but need something better than 11/12 mph. If not, I’ll be in an F150.

This is not ford bashing, just some old stories, my first car in 1977, 72 pinto, 120,000 when i got it, ran good, dont open trunk or drivers door, they would fall off, rear bumper fell off, floor boards not much better, put blocks in front coil springs, longer leaf spring shackes and sum 14” wheels and snow tires (dont ask where those came from) 😎, i think it had a posi trac, that car went places i wouldnt dare go today, a beast off rd, cut the rear axle pads to flip leaf springs, never finished it, went to boot camp instead, My dad had a 78 250, very rusty, was repairing some plow frame damage and decided to clean the oil pan off, putty knife when right through it, i think the rust was holding it together. So as bad as some things seem now days, the younger ones have no clue of the junk we had in the 70’s to work with. The pinto also had a tap under the dash, i washed out the washer fluid tank, insulated it, ran hose in under the dash attached to a brass petcock, fill tank with what ever your hankering was. Usually boonsfarm. lol.

When drain plug was being replaced another leak from the pan to oil cooler was found . Dealer is bringing me a loaner and picking up mine. while they have it they are going over the truck to get ahead of other problems.
