Jason, please take note of whether or not that engine stand feels tippy laterally as the engine block center of gravity shifts laterally during the rotation. The stand legs seem pretty narrow. I'm not sure how important it is to fit within the legs of a crane, versus to be stable and not tip over as the engine rotates. Keeping my fingers crossed, and hope you keep your toes clear!

I have only rotated it about 45 degrees, but it was stable. I’ve used stands that look just like this and even the undersized 1k lb HF stands. I never felt like they were tippy - even though they were stressed beyond comfortable tolerances!
The transformation has begun!!
I have to order an oil cooler rebuild kit, TA-31 for the oil pan and a few other goodies to get this mill ready for its new home!
I had to lift the engine off stand because my lower bolts stuck out too far thanks to the spacers. They hit the stand preventing rotation.
So, those lower bolt holes are not blind. I was able to remove the spacers and run the bolts all the way through.
If you look above, you’ll see I added bolts to the other (2) holes for engine to trans. I was looking at how this setup is putting a lot of strain on those ‘ears’ on the block and I’d be horrified to break the block. Hoping that bolting the 4R100 adapter to the engine adds done rigidity.
I put dielectric grease on the rotating pipe/sleeve. I was able to lift one side of the engine and rotate it pretty easily. Close enough to center of mass that I won’t make any adjustments.
@LegalizeChey has been on a journey to rebuild his 7.3L. During this time he has documented the work and progress along with providing several pictures of his Daytona 1500 lbs gear driven stand. Several FTE'rs have commented on it and it seems like it would be worth a mention here in this thread.
I sent LegalizeChey a PM asking for specific details and if he would mind if I posted them here. He thought it was a good idea and sent me the item SKU and link, which are both noted below.
Details from LegalizeChey: Sure! It’s the harbor freight, Daytona 1500lb gear driven rotating engine stand.
SKU # 57745 $300 + tax
here’s a link for harbor freight. Exact one that I bought
