For the sake of keeping that eBay listing viewable for years to come, below is a screenshot of what Jason is unboxing.

KO76, the illustration does help, thanks.

Jarrett, that is a good idea too. I had not even thought about bringing the engine in/over the stand in order to mount it to the stand.

Good work!!

FWIW, I read the negative reviews from whiners on what appears to be the same product. They complained about poor boxing and open bags/missing fasteners and steel shot (blasting abrasive) in the box, etc. Sounds like the shot was in the casters and they didn’t work right.

In my experience:

The boxing could have been better. But it all appears to have made it here. It’s HEAVY so really needs to be almost bulletproof. UPS lady couldn’t get it out of the truck herself so my MOM helped her......

Open bags and fasteners scattered all over. We’ll see if they’re all there upon assembly....

Casters all spun freely. It feels like 3lbs of steel shot in the box!

I guess the whiners weren’t all wrong?? Lol.

A swiveling link on the leveler might be useful when bolting the engine to the stand, as the stand to crane V base nesting orientation is 180 degrees opposed from the engine yank orientation, and there will be windup strain in the links past 90.

I like to bolt the stand mount to the engine block, then wrestle the mount in to the stand. And, a swivel hook is a must.

I work in high tech, in Silicon Valley. We have a very specific, technical term for those. Pig roasters.

Looks like the same stand I bought from HF. Worked just fine for me, seemed very stable with the complete engine bolted on.

Probably built in the same factory. Maybe even the same guy stick welding with open toe shoes and an improvised welding hood!!

One thing I will say is it is very efficient. Materials are minimal and design is adequate. It packs into a small box for shipping. I’m a little surprised they don’t manage and recover the steel shot better, because one of the reasons to use that abrasive is because you can recycle/reuse it. But, I’m sure they’ve figured out how much it costs to recover just a little more vs let it go and buy more.

The little T-Rex arms that came with this stand are not long enough to reach the lower bolt holes for transmission to block.

So I poked around in the scrap metal/project fodder pile and in about 20 minutes, whipped up some new, longer arms.

I used old head bolts here, but they are a little long. Looks like I need to cut about an inch off of them to work without the hillbilly spacers.

I’ve got a few things to do while it’s on the ground, but should have it up on the stand later today! We’ll see if it works or not.

Some chicken scratch drawings of dimensions. Hopefully that is enough to help?

I see in Eaglescout94’s pics and a couple of my old pics with what appears to be the HF 2k lb stand - the arms appear longer....

It works! I can rotate it pretty easily, but haven’t tried to go upside down yet. Gotta put some paint on the stuff that is degreased and ready to paint first!
