So is the Mishimoto worth the money? I think this topic got a little off subject from the original question. I'm wanting to replace my rad, but I've heard a lot of mixed reviews on the Mishimoto, and was wondering if there was another rad that was just as good, but didn't need a 2nd mortgage to get it? Thoughts?

not to me.
performance wise the misimoto adds nothing of value to the 7.3 system, its main draw is it looks cool. there are no performance gains or benefits that make sense on a cost/benifit ratio.
its one of those things you buy because you just want one.
the autozone one I mentioned is on par with the OEM spec and its price plus lifetime warranty make it a clear winner to me. second choice would be Motorcraft simply for the Known quality. ( Motorcraft is almost always the first choice )

Appreciate the info and advice. Like you said it looks nice, but is that worth breaking the bank. I will look into the one from autozone and take a look at Motorcraft as well. Thanks again.
@THEDON117 , there are several all aluminum radiators that fit our application. Even though the Mishimoto looks nice, most of it is behind the grille and condenser, so you cannot even see that shiny piece of equipment that you just bought. Does it work well, yes and absolutely. Although, there are plenty of other options that work just as well too, as you have seen by now or will see soon.
Sometimes you get what you pay for and sometimes you pay for a lot more than what you get. I am all for doing the job right the first time, which sometimes calls for top tier products at top tier prices, but not always...
This coming from the guy that has OUO traction bars, Borg Warner turbo, South Bend clutch, etc...
During your search for a new radiator, I would have a look at this thread by @ajbrown208 first so that you don't go through the same trouble that he has been forced to go through.

Sous, appreciate the input. I too am all for doing the job right the first time. I do believe you get what you pay for, and if money grew on trees I would buy a Mishimoto and think nothing of it. Unfortunately, I'm not that guy. Just trying to buy a good product that will last but also not break the bank. I will check out that post for sure.

Thanks for your service. I to am retired AF.
If $550 difference (between AutoZone and RiffRiff) "breaks the bank" or requires a "second mortgage" ....

You definitely shouldn't look inside my truck.
X2. LOL...
On Edit; Hey Mark, something I forgot to mention that I discovered a few years back, was how easy it is to clean and repack the idler pulley's, as well as the 2 on the tensioner. They're not that expensive to replace for sure. But I'll admit after repacking them I haven't replaced one of them in quite some time now. I know I had mentioned the billet T-Stat housing as well. I replaced the T-stat housing on all 3 of trucks because they had corroded at the base. The one on my Excursion was actually leaking. That's why I replaced them with the billet ones.
Got everything done, took a nice long drive and have a small leak in the PS pump. I'll make some adjustments and it should be completed tomorrow.
The LPOP was just starting to seep, the coolant pump was still in pretty good shape, no known problems with the fan clutch, PS pump, idler, tensioner.
All items (minus the Serp belt) may have been replaced 85,000 miles ago. I bought the truck 6-1/2 years and 85,000 miles ago, so all items now have a baseline for the next 100,000 miles. I have to have dependability and reliability, otherwise I'll be in a CCSB that cost more than my first house.
Yup, I agree. But it looks good, at least on my truck. That billet T-stat housing matches my intake plenums, and they're power adder's, good for 5hp each!
Good luck with the install. Let us know how it all comes together when your done. I'm curious to see how your Mishimoto radiator installation goes.
Smooth as silk, direct fit.

The PS pump make a huge difference at idle. What I noticed was how much quieter everything is, I'm thinking the fan clutch was making a racket in there. I'll get some pics later.
Any trouble with the Leece Neville alternator? I've read in the 6.0 forum it runs the glow plug voltage a little higher than it should which some people have worried about. I see you have a glow plug control module on yours though.

No sir, I've had the alternator in for about 9 months, no worries.
