BUT until you Tear it down you won't know what all it needs.... you can make some guesses IF you work on em every day.. but I don't.
Jimmy Williams (the guy in the videos for Transmission Bench) is an excellent teacher. If you get his E4OD videos and his master rebuild kit (videos free with kit right now), you will be able to fix your own transmission. Like said above, you won't know what "hard parts" you need until you get it apart. He sells most of those hard parts as well for very fair prices.

IF you can find one at Pull-A-Part it will cost you just over 130 bux Complete.
BUT the TDI engine at Pull-A-Part costs about 200 Bux Complete.
thanks so I'll try and get him to guve me a hand taking the old 1 out and putting a new one in as well. This way I can take my time rebuilding the failed transmission.

Or is taking the trany out something i could do on my own? I also got some upper and lower ball joints that need to be installed maybe get him on that instead. Thabks lonewolf youve been lotsnof help.very much appreciated
Been reading alot of different post on here where people have had the same problem of not goi g into gear. All other posts I've read they all had problems with shifting hard or stalling when going aroud corners. Hard shifts. before this happened i had none of these thi gs happen. Why would mine go like that? With no symptoms. so overfilling the system did that much damage?
