This is a good video of the approximate location of the testing connector,
lots of good info on here if you use the search function to help narrow your problem down and lots of good help here to solve it from that point on,
do you know any of the history of your truck?
how many miles?
what's the general condition? all hacked up? all original? mostly original?
hey i had to mke a new account it wouldnt ket me respond. So my truck is in km 340,000km so whats that almost 200,000 miles mostly original. In the last 20,000 miles its had some repairs. I got receipts for it from as early as 2003. I've only had it for a few months i just love it.
Personally I use the MT2500 ... BUT the Innova 3145 works just fine too and is tested on our trucks.. runs around 20 bux.
Many of the other ODB-1 Scanners will not read Transmission codes from our trucks.
or you can just use the manual method for Free as linked by others in this Thread.

these are the 2 Configurations for the Test Connectors in the 1994 7.3 Diesel
The First is IDI the 2nd Image is the DI
I'm no good at reading those. Like before this truck all I did was oil changes and brakes. I used to pay someone always. Since October 1st I've been a single dad my daughters mom was killedby some dick.. anyways i cant afford that route anymore with daycare. So im trying to learn how to do my self. Half those parts i dont have a clue what they are. But it sounds like your thinking i need a new transmission i guess I'm ****ed.. thanks anyways I eeally do appreciate the help.
it has the Fuel injection Pump up front with 8 injector lines coming from it going to the Injectors.. the DI engine will not have that Pump and all those Lines going to the injectors...
