Hey guys, I need your knowledge yet again.
My new-to-me 2002 f250 7.3 automatic 4x4 is not starting, just cranks endlessly seeming to almost start but not quite.
I had started it on a cold morning, let it run for a bit to warm up, and drove some 100ft to lose power, throttle did nothing, truck limped at idle back to driveway. Throttle momentarily revved engine and tac went to 1500, but only once. Turned off truck to do research, now will not start. Replaced cps and icp (oil inside connector) with rock auto parts. No change. Have oil pressure on dash guage but no rpm on tac when cranking.
Bad cps? I noticed everyone seems down on aftermarket parts for these. Unfortunately I noticed that after ordering the parts.
Any advice would be appreciated. Long way to dealer for oem parts.
One of the things researched that led to the new cps and the reason I suspect I may have got a bad part. Flow chart says cps if no tac movement while cranking. I went to the 7.3 tech folder first thing.
I do not have a scanner, but will need one sooner or later if not now. Trying to get some input before I make the 2 hour trip to the dealership. Will likely get a scanner while in town.

Not all scanners work with our trucks. If you have an android phone you can get an obd II adapter and read most of what you need to
