ajbrown208, I tried to send a rep your way, but I am in jail. If someone can get him for me please!
- Forscan with your own adapter if possible. I know rjdj1186 has his own, but having a second is a good idea.
- Multimeter if rj doesn't have one.
- Swivel adapters for 3/8 and 1/4 drive
- Bucket for flowing diesel fuel into
- Floor jack or two in case you decide to drop the tank
- Step ladder to get into the engine bay easier
- Deep socket for the IPR (may be useless if no other IPR is on hand)
- Various fuses
- Breaker bar in order to remove the belt if needed
- Camera because we expect pictures...
What is a rep? Are you in real jail, or is that some forum term I am not familiar with?
I do not have a floor jack, or the 1 1/8 deepwell socket, obviously. Think I can cover the rest. Another obdii adapter would be nice to see if mine is crap or what.

A "rep" is a reputation point given by a member clicking on the scales at the top right corner of a post of another member. If you are on a mobile device, you are not capable of seeing the reputation scale unless you view the desktop site. We say we are "in jail" because the reputation system does not allow for us to give too many points to the same members too often.
So, no I am not in real jail and it is a FTE forum term we use.
If I think of more tools/supplies to bring, I will post them here and I encourage others to do the same!
Oh good. I thought you might need bail. I have to try the computer version so I can send some reps and end up in jail. We can be cellmates in the same prison gang.
On my e99 I have been battling the fuse box/GEM issue for a few months. I managed to procure a "pre TSB" fuse box and a Ford reman GEM. By "pre TSB", I mean one that was pulled out and replaced with a newer version way back when Ford issued a TSB about this.
Anyway, I had cleaned out my "original" fuse box (version AH, itself a TSB replacement) and continued to have crank/no start probs. I slapped the new GEM in and still had the crank/no start. What was clear was the fuel pump wasn't getting powered on. Since I was getting ready to head overseas on a job, I quickly slammed in the older fuse box (version AF) with the new GEM. Viola, it started right up.
Granted, it had to do with fuel pump power. If I understand correctly the poster has verified pump operation and pressure. However, could there be another "thing" in the starting loop that might be falling victim to fuse box/GEM issues?
TSB = Technical Services Bulletin issued by Ford
GEM = General Electronics Module; it piggybacks on top of the fuse box where your left knee is in the truck. The GEM manages many electrical functions on the truck.
These vehicles had/have water leaks that find their way to the fuse box and GEM. Corrosion happens, then $#@+ happens. Random, funky stuff like lights on/off, horn blowing (at night of course), etc. There are plenty of threads here discussing this.
Anyway, there is a chance the combo platter of fuse box and GEM could be the source - or contributing factor - of what ails your truck. As noted earlier, Forscan/TorquePro could be helpful in ruling in or out any of these potential factors.
rjdj1186, I just got word from my cousin. We will be there Saturday morning. I'll bring my Covered Trailer, floor jack, ladders, step stool, creeper, pop up canopy, 8 foot table, notebook, computer, tarp, rubber gloves, fuel pressure checker, small heat source, chairs, and coffee cup. Maybe a screwdriver of two. We will either get it running, diagnosed, or scraped out for parts. If you can think of anything else, speak up and throw it in the Trailer.

Will someone (or 15 someone's) please send this man a rep! I am in jail still...
Ajbrown208, you are a superhero disguised as a mortal man. I will have coffee ready for that cup. Text me with your estimated arrival time.
Would you boys prefer brisket, pork loin, ribs, or venison roast?

In this part of the country bacon is mandatory.
