Bay Area isn't that bad. Some of us have to live here. It's not exactly Chicago Public Housing. We're 2, maybe 3 points higher, on the public safety scale. We don't have as many homicides as Killadelphia. A fight has not broken out at any of our local Popeye's chicken joints. You might be able to catch The Vice President while he's in town. Maybe get a selfie.
First moisture in awhile always gets a little slippery.
Some guy in a white pick up, spun out on I-280 near Farm Hill. Traffic backed up past 84, almost to Sand Hill.
Wasn't me. I drove right by in my white pick up. CHP on the side of the road gave me a dirty look like I owed her child support. I get a feeling that cop remembers the "lifted white pick up, bright off-road lights" radio broadcast from the last time. There's a traffic stop and polite conversation in my future. I'll let you guys know if that CHiPs babe punches my dance card.
The gauge showed 0.05", so yes we got a measurable amount of moisture. Thanks for reminding me, I need to get up there to clear any debris in the collection bucket.
I made a trip to Home Depot yesterday to pick up some brackets for the deck we just rebuilt. We're putting a fascia across the front and we need some additional members to nail to. There was a very light mist as I drove south on Skyline; not even enough to run the windshield wipers. On the way back, I had them on intermittent.
Things are wet out there this morning, but nothing's showing on the gauge. Oh yeah. Clear that bucket...
From your place, how far is Home Depot? Is it the same hassle of driving all the way to San Jose? Or can you come down 84 to Redwood City?
I live in San Francisco, and I try to order everything with free delivery. I hate going to the store. I can't imagine how you have to make those trips to get your mail, or pick up brackets.
Terri, I have a custom built 427W in the shop for my Bronco, when ever I get back to work on it! Hopefully this winter I'll get some time to work on it.

It's closer for us to go to the store on DeAnza (AKA Saratoga-Sunnyvale or Sunnyvale-Saratoga, depending where you are). We don't get anything delivered to home b/c it's such a hassle. Our "driveway" is almost a mile long, and you need to get through a locked gate. Way too much hassle to deal with that kind of stuff with different delivery people. We have had a thing or two delivered in the past, and it's almost always gone wrong in one way or another.
We get our postal mail at the Skywood Trading Post across the street from Alice's. We can get almost anything delivered there. We've had kayaks, pallets of solar panels, huge solar batteries, even a new bumper for the pickup truck delivered there. They give us a jingle when we have something larger than a bread box. We can't get postal mail here, as our mailbox sits alone out on Skyline Blvd.
Today was another glorious California day up here in the forgotten part of the Golden state. Bluebird skies and mid-80’s.
Not too much going on up here, just WORK and the outside responsibilities. At least the BSA Activities have reduced to a manageable level for now.. maybe I can get caught up on the “Honey Do” list
Midnight. I'm eating Cup Noodles. That's actually what they're called. Not "cup o'noodle". I need a new girlfriend. I need a girl with a bucket of chicken.

So Modoc are you from Modoc county? I grew up in Westwood, Lassen county.
We are having our family Thanksgiving today. We are marinating a tri tip in a bourbon marinade, and we also have a small turkey in brine. Then the usual potatoes, dressing, cranberries kind of thing. Looks like it will be a mahvelous day to sit on the deck and watch the birds go by.
