Meanwhile, I'm waiting for Banks to finally come out with the Derringer for the 11 to 16s. Runs leaner which should reduce soot.

I know a guy who had his truck (11-16 gen) tuned by a local guy here. He now owns a new gen and has the Derringer. Keeps it on 6 (top level) and says it definitely tows better. Anyway, the guys who stlll do it have to be careful because they could get shut down and fined by the EPA. They are still out but have to be found.

I'm also considering a methanol injection system at one point to clean up the engine and exhaust system. But that's down the line. I want a CAI and Air Dog pump/filter first. JMHO...

This is kind of ironic, I remember being called an idiot (in more or less words) by people on this forum when I said emissions are here to stay and delete tuning is going to be going away soon. Looks like the time is ever more close and coming to an end, at a much quicker rate than I expected it to. I figured 3-5 years, but this is a major blow to a lot of companies and people.

Deleting emissions will not affect the quality of air much at all. Just like putting emissions crap on tractors. Doesn't matter much.
I deleted the emission crap on my 2014 last year and it doesn't blow smoke.
DPF causes a vehicle to use more fuel especially during regeneration but also because of lower mpg. Just like electric cars don't create a cleaner environment unless all power plants go to nuclear.

I'll take it.
Deleting is illegal and absolutely should be.

Why should it be illegal?

I'm sure they will get right on it, right after they get all the mufflers back on the Harleys.

I'm not talking local police. I'm a city cop and I could give a rat's @ss about loud Harleys or cars. Except maybe the Fast and Furious cars... Them just sound stupid. I had a couple of Kawasaki jet ski stand ups that sounded way BETTER...

I'm talking State Trooper enforcement. The Fed's putting the squeeze on the States. Don't act like it can't happen. I'm sure no one thought what's going on would happen either....

If things don’t change I don’t doubt that will be the next step. Really hope it doesn’t come to that but I guess it’s probably only a matter of time.

EPA police did a spot check of my stock truck and issued a written warning. Next ticket would be 700.

my crime was that during regen, I had more than 3 seconds of puff smoke.

keep in mind I passed vehicle emissions testing 30 days earlier.

One could easily assume enforcement is next, and it wouldn't take much for truckers and hot shot guys at weigh stations and ports of entry, etc., all that's needed is year of vehicle, if 2007+ it needs a particulate filter at the minimum

That was on your 6.4 correct? So you had a stock, emissions legal 6.4 that was functioning as it should with no CELs? And if so, they could give you a summons next after the warning?
