Axle code A8? Actually a Locking diff?
I have a 65 F100 which the axle code A8 reads as [font]Locking[/font]3.54 (3.3M)Dana 44, 44.3
Is this something you manually lock, possibly locks automatically in a straight line? i've seen 2wd trucks get stuck in wet grass so it could be handy although i have no intention of mudding this antique.
My color code wasn't stamped for whatever reason and it's kind of a copper but where it's peeling it's a wild green color reminds me of a carnival ride so I'm guessing someone's painted it at some time.

Your original colour underneath appears to be Caribbean Turquise. The rear diff is limited slip (or as Chev calls it positraction). Anything going on in the rear diff will happen automatically, there is nothing to "lock" manually. Post your warranty plate attached to the drivers door for a more in depth decoding.

Without looking I'm thinking you're the guy who replied to my other thread saying you couldn't see the pictures. I can see them myself and I can see them both in google chrome on a computer and on my phone. I'm thinking maybe you're using an old web browser? Maybe you have an older computer that has an old version of Internet Explorer running on it and that's what your using to get around. I'm just pasting the pictures right into the text box on the reply field.

I cannot see the pictures either. I clicked on the link that was in my email saying that there is a response to this thread and it took me to a Google sign in page. I usually am a Google user but cannot remember my password right now and I'm only on my phone
