Thanks. Sounds like the smart thing to do on my budget is hold off on the Hydra for a little while, go ahead and upgrade the wheel and the pedestals etc. and then because they hydras easy to install later versus tearing into the turbo or whatever else I can do it at leisure... when get funds

It is on the way actually. May have to return it or have a heart to heart with the misses about the extra $$.. considering how much I’ve spent on this truck in the last year and half not sure she would notice.... ☺️😞

You can always install it and see how it does in certain tunes. You may get away with no surge in the lower tune, high idle will be something you'll want here before long.

Thanks. I went ahead and got the RR wheel coming. Not the end of the world. I’ll just have to come up with the extra 200 somewhere so I don’t have to do this again.... always seems to be something, right. Hope this is it for a while.

Well. Looks like I’m gonna have to pull the pcm to get the code. Has to come out anyway I guess. Mine just appears to have a cover on it I’ve not seen on any of the videos on how to find the code without removing.

If you have Forscan, you might be able to get it by following the steps below.

Let us know if it works...

Plug your computer in, turn the key on and start Forscan. After it recognizes your truck's configuration and you click yes, move your cursor to the top left box where the yellow "I" (info) is and make sure it is selected. Then on your screen select the Configuration Tab. It should lay out all the current information for your truck.

I got the code on mine using a mirror. Under the hood, it's on the side facing the wheel well. If you're installing a chip it needs to come out anyway.

Thanks for all the help and advise.
Got’r done. Finally.
Wow what a difference.
Installed:
xdp up pipes
blank pedestal
high flow outlet
Riff Raff plenum boots and inserts
Hydra
Riff Raff wheel

Holding 19 PSI when WOT and holy cow the super fast low end spool up is awesome. Really woke it up. Can only hold WOT for a few seconds before had to back off cause going 85+.. lol. Will probably do more boost but didn’t want to get in trouble as had no load. That was just in 60hp daily...

Yeah that's all the fun go fast stuff. Wait till your u-joints start making noise lol. That's the less fun repair work.

Just out of curiosity how did you hold the turbine end of the turbo steady to tighten the new compressor housing down? I have taken apart truck and van turbos and was a little flummoxed that the turbine for the truck turbo did not have a proper 6 or 12 point fitting on the end of it like the van or KC S300 turbine does to hold it steady to either remove or replace the comp wheel. The truck turbine is basically round with one flat edge on it like it is perhaps some sort of proprietary fitting you don't usually find in a toolbox.

Ironically that’s something I didn’t do. I’ll have to ask my friend that that did the turbo rebuild for me.

On a sidenote I finally just took the truck on the road for a few hundred miles and I was absolutely astonished at the difference. I knew it was a new truck but I’m almost nervous to put up the numbers I saw for mpg. I can do very close calculations because I’ve got an auxiliary fuel tank that I filled to the neck visually every time and it’s within probably a half gallon or less. I feel like people are going to call BS but I went from getting 14 to 15 miles per gallon to one fill up at 23.6 and the other one at 25. That’s on a couple hundred miles each trip. Unloaded. A few back roads half interstate.
