You must be a youngin’. It always used to be release of a new year model the fall of the previous year. This would get us back to the norm. Ford spanked the standard years ago releasing trucks in the spring of the previous year for which they were the model year. Then, ran with it for several generations. Frankly, IMO, it screwed up a bunch of things. It should get back to the original standard.

It’s hard to make everyone happy but Ford might have gotten pretty close.
People like me who got a 19 or 18 are glad that there aren’t enough changes to justify or regret buying a new truck - 2020 buyers know their HD won’t get redesigned for another 2 or 3 years so they will get off the fence , while giving people looking for a gas alternative incredible excitement of a potentially game changing motor- building on the salaries sport with LEDs ect- and pushing the 10 speed transmission. This will give the 17-20 owners time to be ready for what I would think would be a totally redesigned 2022 or 2023 model .

They just had to go and make the front grill and headlights proprietary to the redesign haha. It also looks like the LED headlights are only offered on King Ranch and up trim levels

Ford has updated the 6.7-liter Power Stroke diesel engine as well, giving it a new 36,000-psi fuel-injection system with new injectors along with a redesigned electronic-actuated variable-geometry turbocharger that boasts improved throttle response and pumping efficiency. Structural enhancements include new steel pistons that create less friction and give higher firing-pressure capability, resulting in greater torque and horsepower outputs.
