hope yall stay "safe" out there when your doing outside work... friend of mine the other day learned an important lesson to wash your hands before and after using the bathroom when working outside.... had been mowing his lawn when "nature" called him... now hes got poison ivy on his "back door" lol
Thank you Shawn. I've had to turn the phone off the last couple of days, calls left and right with people reaching out, asking for my resume, so they can share it. One or two possible leads. Thinking, with Catherine and being married and all, I can go on her insurance, so I don't need full time positions, which means I can take contract work. Means, I can push my take home rate to somewhere around 60-100 an hour, rather than what I was at before. But it'll be short 6 month stretches in between. So, we shall see what happens. Another possibility has also shown up, a chance to do some instructional work in software. Might be fun!
mum and dad are back... they got home at 2am last night... need to find out why the ac in her car quit...[/QUOTE]
Glad to hear it. Start with the basics. Check high and low side pressures, and report back.

Thanks Larry, truth to tell. I haven't spent more than 30 minutes to an hour searching yet. So much to do here that I can just keep putting it off. Finacially we aren't in a bind yet, or even soon.

Sorry about the Job, that is bad timing - hopefully you find something soon!!
Thank you Niko, Larry, and Tony. Yes. We did rush it a little. Which I've heard some worry about. However, Catherine and I have known each other since I was around 16. We have become close friends starting at around 12 years ago, talking almost every day, some times for hours. We had our reasons for rushing it, and I, for one, am glad we are where we are at, now, in particular.
In other news, I just got back from the local gold mine... I mean junk yard. Plenty of 70's and 80's ford trucks to pick through. Didn't see a single brick or aero nose, but since I wasn't in the ford area, I may just have missed them plenty of rangers and such. Looks like good prices.
But surprise, surprise, I was there to get a GM 10 bolt axle...

compressor quit... still holding pressure but compressor wont engage... i can literally turn the clutch by hand.... want to come work on it for me?? dunno how many 06 impalas youve worked on.... dealership said theyd do it for $2000 mainly because of where that compressor is... dad was pricing out the parts and just the parts alone was $800...
Yes, the clutch should turn by hand, until the clutch is powered on, then it should be locked to the compressor. Unless it's a wobble style plate.
weird cant turn the one thats on the mustang by hand even with the car off... however the one thats on dads truck i can just barely turn... you can feel a high amount of ressistance there... but on hers it turns free as a bird... the outer plate on heres is also like REALLY loose... like a washer on a free bolt kinda loose... when you push the button to engage the ac it just makes all kinds of racket... kinda racket you get when a pulley gets a bad bearing and is just barely holding on before it flys off.... leave the ac button off and theres no racket..

clutch style looks similar to the one on the mustang but body wise theyre not...
Shoot a picture of it, and let me see. Sometimes you can just replace the clutch if that's what's bad. It's just another electro-magnet. Energized the magnet pulls the clutch in engaging the pulley to the shaft. De-energized it free wheels. Wobble style plates are always engaged, the less electricity, the more it slips, though I may have that backwards.
Decided to move the camper so I could mow. Took a couple of shots.
I do. I use it with the F-150. But since I was just moving it around and not going on the road, I just used the hitch that I keep with that truck, which is a 7 3/4 inch drop. The slope makes the one ton look like it's squatting more than it is, but the trailer is nose down, due to the drop hitch that I used. I've got a few things I'd like to get done to the trailer today, this week. Though it will depend on how the heat is. The last few days have had me hiding inside.

cool cool... was curious because i couldnt tell if the trailer had the chain brackets or not... see so many people pulling trailers like that with their trucks sitting nose high they dont realize that its actually dangerous to drive em like that as well...
when im moving the cargo trailer around the property i dont usually chain it up either.. when i took it to wilson last time i had the chains set wrong for the light trailer... should have been set differently... but forgot.. ended up setting them as if it was fully loaded...

Yep. I’m really trying to avoid resetting the WDH to use it on the one ton, at least for now. I might set it up later for the one ton. I’m also itching to get out and do some camping soon. Maybe find a place to do some fishing as well.
Well it took two shops, and two full day's but Ka'Bluey has his new tires on, and street legal. I even got to drive him to our local fishing lake yesterday.
Y'all have a safe July 4th!
