No start after orings, bubbling by glow plug?

I replaced inj orings due to low icp no start. I had 3 injectors with bad lower orings. Replaced all of them. The process wasn't bad and it fired after. But died during victory lap, hit a deer and towed home. I have removed 2 and inspected the bore etc. It is still a no start low icp. One thing I am noticing is a bubbling at #7 glow plug. With the valve covers off its the only one doing this. That injector I had out again and that glow plug too. Everything seems seated. Torqued and correct. Except during cranking that one is bubbling in the oil around it. Has anyone ever had his problem? I know I'm close to getting this on the road.

Icp max is 300ish after 30-40 seconds of cranking. The value bounces up and down by 100psi. Rpms are good, batteries new. Orings are Alliant bought from a forum vendor. #5injector I took out to inspect first as its solenoid was a 32" higher than its neighbor. But everything looked fine w it. No debris and everything intact. Then I noticed the bubbling at #7injector so I pulled it to inspect. It's also fine and everything intact. And to clarify it is bubbling at the #7glow plug.

Do the GP's have O rings on them? If so are you sure that there are no old ones stuck down in the head and that the one on it is good? Any debris down in the hole preventing it from sealing?

I believe it's standard that these glow plugs do not have orings. That one was really hard to see into. Maybe there pieces of old injector oring in there. They are oem glow plugs.

I've seen this before. We swapped out the originals with OEMs, and one GP wouldn't seal - no matter which new one went in the hole. We had to put the original back in, or let the bubbler gunk up to eventually self-seal (we hoped).

What about an injector harness zip tie down the GP hole...on the seat area?

There are no o-rings to seal the GP. They seal using a conical taper at the base of the thread.

As others have so, no o-rings on the glow plugs, at least not on the ZD-11 OEM glow plugs. I just installed 8 of them last week and not 1 had an o-ring.

As for the piece of zip tie in the seat area of the GP, it is very possible. I had a zip tie knuckle in the seat area of 2 glow plugs on the passenger side that did not allow for removal. The socket just spun on top of the GP. Since you are still under the valve cover, I would take the bubbler out and with a very bright light look at the head threads and the GP threads and look for anything that is not supposed to be there.

Is your HPOP reservoir full when you start cranking?

Since you took a victory lap I will skip the "you didn't try long enough", although mine was a hard-ish start several times after I did injector cups before it smoothed out to what I was used to.

Just spitballing but I've read of issues with the drainback valve in the block (but not that common), leaking HPOP/gasket (is there oil in the valley?), and injector solenoid problems (that allow the HPO rail to drain through the injector).

My truck smoked like a mosquito spray truck for miles before it started running right after putting glow plugs & injector 0-rings on. Running around a few blocks wouldn't get the air out of the system, would be my thoughts.

And I don't remember any orings on Glow Plugs either.

After I stopped, to inspect my bumper. The ex died. And I killed the batteries before it fired again. I tried jumping it when the wife brought the 01. It was a no start. I got a tow home. And pulled the two rear injectors on pass side. I didn't see anything wrong and reinstalled and torqued them. Since then I've cycled it enough times and icp never goes over 300.
