2006 F250 6.0L FX4 230,000 miles
Number 2 injector went out, so I replaced it. Second time replacing an injector in last couple of months, so I expected the long crank to build up pressure.
I did not expect the glow plug circuit failure on ALL even numbered plugs. Diesel mechanic neighbor said this was normal until air got purged from system. Drove 180 miles tonight and still getting codes each time I start.
My assumption is that all the glow plugs have wires that connect somewhere, but I don't know where the connection should be.
In order to replace the injector, I removed only the parts that I needed to in order to open the valve cover - this included the FICM. Could the glow plugs connect to the FICM? Plugging FICM back in is difficult with connectors on bottom. Could problem be caused by not getting a good connection on one of the connectors - maybe a bent pin?
Both glow plug harnesses plug into the GPCM on the passenger side you should be able to follow a. Harness right to it. It's pretty easy to take it on and off.
Check above connections and also follow the glow plug harness from the glow plugs on the drivers side up to intake area and there will be a 4 prong flat connector. Make sure that did not come loose.
