I can understand if you disagree...but is that the most intelligent answer you could come up with? Your not making him look like much of an idiot if you know what I mean...

While it is hard to disagree with your first sentence, the second is a little harsh.

I'm not sure what you mean by "is that the most intelligent answer you could come up with?" Sometimes elaborate explanations of why one is oppose to a particular point of view isn't needed. I'm not trying to make anyone look like an idiot. People generally take care of that themselves.
We try to avoid name calling and find a more polite way to express ourselves here. I am surprised you didn't hear from the moderator. Anyway I see that you are a new user and we all needed a few reminders I suppose. You may want to avoid religion and politics if other peoples opinion upsets you.
Texas web site that shows what folks ate for their last meal, information about their crime, and where their from. I check it out every now and then to get ideas for dinner.
I have to think that I would rather die than spend the rest of my life rotting in prison. As for deserving criminals, I have no problem with them getting juiced or otherwise put to sleep.
HOWEVER, one must take a look at just how capital punishment is administered. These are proven statistics, so don't shoot the messenger:
1) People without adequate funds, or the luck to get a good attorney pro-bono, are more likely to get the death penalty. Many public defenders are attorneys new to the game, right out of college, or hacks who can't manage a private practice (as not to offend anyone, some choose this route and are quite good at criminal defense.) But as a rule, most public defenders do not have much experience, if any, in death penalty cases. They also don't have an unlimited budget or staff to throw monkey wrenches into the prosecution's case, making it easier for a jury to sentence a person to death.
2) I'm white and proud of it, but I do not think that my life is worth more than a law-abiding minority's. Nor do I think my family is more deserving of the ultimate justice than any other law-abiding family, irregardless of color. But to face fact, a white person is less likely to get the death penalty if their victim is black, and a black is more likely to get the death penalty if their victim is white. Is this the blind justice as was intended in the forming of this country?
I could go on, but I have other chapters in this sight to investigate. I just find myself contemplating on these thoughts when I see or hear an argument on the death penalty.
Just my humble opinion, and I say that with all sincerety.
