How do you define evil?

They were discussing this on Bill O'Rilleys show tonight. What do you think?

EVIL

Evil to me is anyone who places no value on anyone elses life but their own. An Evil person is sociopathic, no guilt no remorse of any kind. An Evil person is someone who would take pleasure in ruining anothers life. An Evil person puts their smallest needs before the greatest needs of someone else. (example: Yeah I see that woman calling for help because she is getting attacked but I can't be bothered right now, I'm hungry I need to go to McDonalds). Evil is the lowest common denominator of behavior that a person or a group of people can display, according to the morals of your society. The Evil infidels, according to Muslims is every American and Israelite. Evil to almost everyone else is any person that can take joy in the killing of innocent people in order to propogate your system of beliefs.
One should not mistake evil with envy though. Just because Bill Gates (just an example) is the wealthiest man on earth doesn't mean he's evil. Many people feel he may be evil, but it is just envy speaking. Heck, I envy the guy also, but I also know he does alot of good with his wealth.
I sure that there will be alot of Biblical answers to this thread about Satan, hell fire and eternal damnation. But the basic definite of Evil is the lowest common denominator of behavior that a person or a group of people can display, according to the morals of your society

Really nasty evil is anything that attempts to mirror what is good. At first blush it sounds good and makes sense. Upon reflection though you see that it is making what is wrong appear OK.

Anything that corrupts truth. bigdmizer made several good points. I would only add that evil attempts to pass itself off as being compassionate while in fact it tears human relations apart because it is has no love except love of self.

Homosexuality and feminism. They are both ruining this country. Being a REAL MAN is not a crime, but they believe it is.

What, nobody mentioned the Clintons?

Seriously though, I think you hit the nail on the head. Anything that makes bad appear to be good.

Evil is the spirit of things you cannot grasp, but has the power to take hold of you in the most inopportune time. It first lurks just out of sight, the other side of a tree or building or in the other room, moving just in time that you cannot distinguish whether it be shadow or wind. It visits you as an old friend that begs your approval to move in, to be part of your family, then ruin all it touches before it leaves. It comes in the form of a blessing and stirs up happiness in your home or on your job, only to leave you wailing in despair some damp, cold, and gray morning. It calls upon you, heartbroken, and full of woe, begging for a morsel from your table, only to run off with all your money and innocence. It is the brilliant “Son of the Morning”, spectacular and beautiful, chelating its spirit into your own as it slowly manipulates your life, forming it as it sees fit, only to someday leave you gaunt and lifeless lying somewhere along life’s highway, sad and alone. It is a sharp, dominant thought in your idle mind that you claimed was gone some twenty years ago when you swore you would never do that again. It is the maker of the meaningless things you say to your spouse when in the heat of anger. It knocks upon the door of your innermost fears, challenging your ego to let it come in and play. It makes off with rationality and reasoning while you sit fumbling with nonsense. It is the imagination of a person’s heart from youth. It is the tongue of mankind, untamed and full of poison.

During my bout of poetic enthusiasm I realized that I know, personally, all of the above and am sure more will surface.

It comes from knowing your enemy- and I have to come to know him well.

And what makes you think I have a warped (twisted) mind?

We are already friends, brothers to be exact, we both are Sons of the South!!!

Evil is free speech abused by an extremist that has only negative, derogatory, falsely-based, ignorant statements of their own idioticy to share. Lack of tolerance or acceptance of another's views and beliefs whether they agree or not. I see Evil spreading quickly here and because of the nature of what is being allowed will be refraining from bothering to try and discuss issues I find highly important to myself with people who can do nothing other than say "You're wrong, fool" (in a nutshell) without any evidence whatsoever to back up this blatantly unfounded belief. Since when is an attack on a person's beliefs or thoughts a valid point in any discussion? Remember my fellow Ford loving friends,,, it only takes one bigoted point of view to ruin a wonderfully intelligent and informed discussion. This apalling lack of respect for other members here is beginning to make me sick to my stomach. I abhor sharing a love of my truck's heritage and future with such Evil people as these. I will not tear your blinders away, but will stay out of your gunsights easily, I have not the time nor inkling to be a part of any discussion with such blatant disregard for another's right to their own views and beliefs. And that's My $0.02 worth, and I know it's worth every penny, just as much as the rest of yours are!
