I bought two different models via eBay. One is "Silent Pocket" and the other is "Signal Tactics" and I have no other info on either. I do know they work. I already said I could have the fob inside one of these pouches while sitting in the truck, and the truck cannot find a signal from the fob.

EDIT TO ADD: My "Silent Pocket" pouch has stopped working. More on that in a post below.

I bought some on Amazon and they worked great for about 2 months. I bought 3, and two stopped working within that 2 month period. Upon further review, it seems that many people from different name brands complained about the same problem. They stopped blocking the signal after about 2 months. Most of these signal blocking Faraday pouches run around $20. So I just bought another and paid an additional $3 for three years warranty. Still if anyone has used one for an extended period, I would appreciate the name brand. I’m also trying to figure out why they seem to work so well and then stop working. I’m wondering if the friction of going in and out if a pocket is part of the reason for them losing their effectiveness?

I installed a nest cam outside over the ‘18 F350. In the past 10 years, my previous truck had been robbed twice. Once because I was stupid enough to leave my truck unlocked. I get notifications of motion or people movement in the vicinity with the nest cam. One time late at night (1am) a potential perp approached slowly, and I guess he looked up and saw the tiny green light, and then took off in a sprint. So, yes cameras seem to be a deterrent.

A word of thanks to those who replied to this thread! After reading that some Faraday pouches stopped working over time, I tested mine this morning. Walked up to the truck with each fob-in-pouch to see if each would unlock the door when I touched the door handle’s sensor. I found the “Silent Pocket” (SP) pouch no longer works and the “Signal Tactics” (ST) pouch is still working. Upon learning that, I transferred my daily-use fob to the ST pouch and wrapped my spare fob in aluminum foil (aluminum foil is an effective RFID blocker).

I’m wondering what would cause a pouch to degrade to where it no longer blocks a signal, and the only thing that comes to mind is that I handle the SP pouch almost daily. That continual flexing of the fabric may cause it to break down over time and degrade as an effective RFID blocker. So, now I will use the ST pouch daily and test periodically over the next 4 to 6 months before deciding whether or not to buy another.

EDIT TO ADD: Did a little more research and it seems the ST pouch also fades with use. It's time to locate a small RFID blocker box to stow my fob at night.

I've had one from Amazon called Wisdom Pro for 11 months now. Still blocking fine for me.

Our local cops say to store your fobs in the freezer at night, it acts as a farady cage.

Not so sure I want to put a cold fob in my pocket first thing in the morning. Along that same line, a microwave oven works, too. I tried a couple metal tins I found around the house today, but they were not effective. Granted, I'll probably line one of them with aluminum foil to make it work for the spare fob I leave at home. I also found a non-fabric option (no more pouches for me) that's not too expensive, and would also work if left inside the truck. I'm going to order one of THESE for daily use.

The key was detected for the start, so he walks 50 yards away any i shift out of park and drive away!
Sounds like i need to enable the police mode for him.
