Can always get a revelco security installed. That's what I done the second day I had my new truck, and have some good insurance
I looked at that as well and of course only fear is that dealer would blame anything aftermarket to void warranty.
Would you mind sharing what it ran you?
We keep all of our fobs in a Faraday bag to prevent thieves from boosting the remote signal and gaining control and access to our vehicle. Here are the ones we have. https://amzn.to/2PvZU1U

got 3 of those, 2 a few months later now no longer block the signal.
Plus it seems from the video above they are not needing the signal, just the vin and then reprogram the signal.
For convenience sake, I might just go back to The Club on the steering wheel hoping that the thief just might say, “to hell with it, I’ll go to the next truck.”

Every little bit helps, but the Club isn’t the protection that many think it is. Thieves don’t fight the Club, they just snip the steering wheel with bolt cutters...
And... vote republican. Yes, they’re far from perfect - until you compare them to the democrats...

you think bolt cutters?— seems like thieves are showing up with laptops instead of bolt cutters?
While it might be a hassle, maybe get a battery quick disconnect and disconnect your battery every night. The hassle of the truck not starting for a thief would probably deter him.
Or trip the fuel inertia switch every night instead so you don’t have to reset your electronics after the battery disconnect.
So I’m an old man just venturing into a diesel SD the first time in his life, but
I keep hearing about all the computer related technology in these trucks. Is their any residual damage to the computer if you keep disconnecting and reconnecting the battery? Or any other facet of the truck for that matter?
Just get good insurance and don't worry about it. There's enough **** to worry about in life. Millions of other SuperDutys out there to buy with that insurance check.
Just install a kill switch and all your problems go away. They have to bring a tow truck to steal mine.
That's probably the best solution ... a simple on/off switch wired inline to the fuel pump. Me? My Faraday pouches are where my keyless fobs sleep. They're so effective that the truck doesn't recognize the fob in the pouch while I have it inside the cab. The 2015-up F150 and 2017-up Super Duty share the same door handles. Go pull your driver's door handle and the lock cylinder is exposed. Turn a pair of ChannelLocks or Visegrips on that cylinder and you're in, and the alarm won't go off because the truck thinks you used the key to gain entry. I removed that lock cylinder and plan to use jumper cables to the starter motor if a dead battery ever becomes an issue.
You don't need the Vin for a lot of those cars to make a new key if it's push button start. Just the software and an obd plug. I make/program those types of keys and we use a box that connects to an android tab. Takes 5 to 30 minutes depending on the car. I did a Challenger push button start in about 5 minutes. Hardest part would be getting into the locked vehicle to start with.
If you have a key, then you would have to defeat the key as well as the chip programming. Safer than just the push button start.
I wanted the push button start....but only came on Lariat ultimate package and I went with the value pack. I knew about this issue, but would still rather have push button start.

Tricon, so you are telling ME not to worry about it?

$599 and they come to you house or work. Takes about 2 -3 hours. As far as warrenty, it won't affect it. Warrenty is warrenty. Unless the ravelco is causing the problem. The ravelco web site explains it and the laws covering warrenties
