Sweet sticker for sure. Here are two more to be on the look out for. lol
Chad get one and tell HER to follow bullet statements #1 and #3 (back seat driving is the same a side seat driving).
And I have to ask, it looks like that transmission shifter cover box is all sorts of right in the way of a drivers leg? My red one is an auto, it use to be a manual and the complete cover box is gone. I have plexiglass to fill in the hole, and I use it keep and eye on the front d/s when on the rocks.
No matter what, you are driving a damn cool ride. I would love to have a EB that was a DD/pavement capable one. Ol red is not geared for pavement duty.
Anyhow, lucky for me those welds didn't hold at all. Managed to stick the air hammer between the frame and body and bust them loose. The ding dongs even left the screws for the cover underneath the new floor.
After this was fixed I started giving the roll bar a hard look.....it's just as whacked as the body work(same guy). I figure there is almost an additional 3-4 inches of headroom to gain. Had a debate with myself on starting over or using pieces of what is there. This is one spot where the welds look pretty good.....assembly however is questionable. I'm removing the lid for winter repairs and will post some pics later.
That air hammer sure is nice... once ya learn how to properly use it lol.... hey I didn't screw up on my truck too bad!
I foresee you scrapping all the POs shotty roll cage cz you know if it was bad in spots... where else is it bad? You don't want to risk it and with your metal working skills it would be no problem for you to make your own. (More work yes but not too hard for you lol)
Once the lid is off you'll see. There isn't a clean line anywhere. I'm sure there is a reason the 2nd hoop leans back toward the rear and other than a seat belt attachment I can't figure out why(looks out of place to me). I hate how it blocks dash stuff which of course I can move switches and glove box and will. If you look at it sideways the front half leans downward a fair bit(headroom situation)...rather not add tube to correct. I think a new hoop at the front, second hoop aaaaahhhh yea ,I'll be starting over. I already have plenty so why not make it look and function better.
Also, I'm no brain surgeon but I'm pretty sure roll cages are supposed to have angles(x's) to increase strength. I'm sure the kits sold don't need to be race proven but i'd rather overbuild (as usual). Gonna be a busy winter.
Heading to a local car show tomorrow night. Wonder how good the headlights are aimed. haha
And yea the front down tubes get right in your way getting in. What about when you make a new one, push the fwd down tubes, fwd a bit and bring them down thru the dash? Trying to find better pics.
