I bought a 2006 F350 6.0 today and after a quick inspection of the batteries and cables I found the + cable/connector on the passenger side is eat up pretty bad. Question is: replace or repair? New cables are around $75 on ebay. I'm leaning toward replace but just looking for repair options/opinions.
Thanks,
Scott

Replace. Corrosion will wick down the cable and the insulation can look nice and clean but be hiding a mess under it's nice shiny surface.
It's not worth the hassel to even mess with it unless your stuck somewhere and need to get moving ASAP. Corrosion hidden like that can cause
all types of electrical oddness. Could be anywhere from not starting to burning up an expensive module

Thanks for the reply. I had read several old threads about electrical issues after posting this and decided to replace the cables. I didn't see any reason (for my application) to upgrade to the larger cables so I ordered an OEM replacement. I will check the alternator output after cable replacement and will replace it if it appears to be weak. I also ordered an Edge Insight CS today.
Thanks,
Scott
Thanks for the videos! Once upon a time, long ago (25+ years), I taught electronics in the Navy. I went a different direction in life after the Navy but the basics are still somewhere in my rememberer.
