those are the LEAD leads, they no longer used those on our SD, since 2000
The replacement leads are all SS connections
I got the same link when I was looking.
You could just cut the power wires from the LEAD and buy a general battery post connector, the leads are probably OK

Are you sure they quit using them since 2000? Mine is an 01.
Either way, is the cable that I posted the correct one? Seemed pretty cheap for an OEM replacement so I'd probably buy it if its correct. The local stealer wanted $150.
I screwed around with a generic connector today and couldn't make it work...will probably try another one tomorrow.
Yeah my 2001 has those, and when my terminal clamps were too deformed, I had to replace the entire harness, IIRC the parts costed me $230, just so I could replace my battery properly. I tell ya that Ford Stealership will do it to ya everytime!
mine looks the same (2002). I replaced the one on my dad's 05, and it was a BEEEYOOOOTCH. it snakes across the engine bay underneath in some small places, and isn't very easy to get my hands into. would not want to do it again.
