Please Help! Remote Start not working after dealer visit

2017 F350 6.7 CCSB. So my truck had a crack in the coolant reservoir and was in to have it replaced last week. When it was returned the remote start would not work. The display settings indicate that the remote start system is on. No warning lights are on, the hood is closed and the alarm is off. Any help on this issue would be appreciated.

The fact that the remote start settings still show up in the driver's information display means that it was not disabled by the dealer.

Factory remote start won't function if there's a problem with the vehicle.

I could imagine that the plug for the hood switch was disconnected and never re-connected when the coolant reservoir was swapped out. Or there's something else going on with the truck.

Good suggestion about hood switch. Pop the hood and see if you get a Hood Ajar message on the IPC. If not, then that is most likely your culprit.

Thank you everyone! Hood switch was good and cycling the ignition 5 times in 7sec was unsuccessful. Back at dealer today, I will update later...

Same problem here. I brought my truck to Planet Ford in Houston to fix one tire tire pressure sensor that was not reading right and not only where not able to repair TPMS system in the three days they had my vehicle, I just discovered the remote start does not work..

I am still shocked that the largest Ford dealer in Texas has such a pathetic service department! .All I got was excuses!

Anyway, I love the truck, but now have to research a decent dealer in my area to fix new issue.

Good luck finding a decent dealer in Houston. Both the dealer I bought my truck from and the one that is closest to the house have demonstrated little desire to be timely or efficient.

quick update on mine. I tried the turning the key from off to on(not start) five times in seven seconds and that did not work. I checked in Forscan and everything was enabled.

I disconnected batteries for 20 minutes and that fixed my remote start issue.

5 key cycles isn't a programming sequence, hence why I mentioned it.

6 key cycles is to learn new long range FOB's

8 key cycles is to learn a security module.

I know this is an old post but I was having the same remote start issue. Disconnecting the batteries worked like a charm. Glad we have this forum.
