nope. Under the ”C” clip on top of the injector. I was hitting the “C” clip to get it out and slipped and hit “that metal ring just below it” what ever it’s called , and broke it.
On the same note, Mark you were right. Its the HPOP, an “O” ring or the STC fitting. I’m not a happy camper. One of my grandsons is coming home from Collage this weekend to help me. I’ve got no one to point the finger at but me. I put this engine together.
Thanks Jack!! Got pump off finally and don’t see anything obvious. Yellow “O” ring in proper place and so was the other one. Is this a reman pump or are those markings normal. Really didn’t notice that when installing. Big question. How do you test the pump?
Setting up a bench test rig should not be that hard, but I don't know anyone who has done so. Pumps are not that hard to test. Our old aircraft hydraulic division had a ton of test benches.
Can't tell you anything about the HPOP labels though.
I found a Navastar test procedure. Will do it but don’t really have a lot of faith in it. Last thing is to put it in and test before I put it all back together. (That is what I should have done before I took it out)
No, I did air test and had a pretty hefty leak. Re sealed all passenger injectors and still had a considerable leak. I’m trying to figure out how to do a test on pump outside of engine. All ideas welcome
I did nipple cup seals when i did the engine about 15,000 miles ago. Didn’t do new nipple cups. I took the CV out of the valve cover and have same leak on drivers side. Praying it’s not branch tubes.
